DestinyGPT: a Destiny 2 AI advisor that has read your vault

Ask a generic chatbot about your best void sniper and it will hallucinate one. DestinyGPT is different: it is wired into your synced vault with real search tools, so its answers are about the items you actually own.

It searches your vault, not the internet

Behind every answer are the same query tools the app itself uses: a powerful search syntax, item names, weapon types and collectible sources. When you ask "do I have a good rocket launcher for a Grandmaster?", the advisor runs real searches over your synced items, checks each roll's appraisal verdict, and reads community perk explanations before it answers. If you own no swords, it says so — it does not invent one.

A loadout builder that respects your inventory

Describe an activity or a build idea — a Grandmaster Nightfall, a Trials weekend, "an arc build with fast abilities" — and DestinyGPT assembles a complete loadout: weapons matched to the build's element and ability loop, the right exotic armor (it knows every exotic you own, with its intrinsic perk), subclass aspects and fragments, armor mods and artifact perks you have actually unlocked. Every recommendation comes from gear in your vault, the reasoning is saved with the loadout, and one click equips the whole thing — with a checklist of exactly what was applied.

Lore, explained by someone who was there

The advisor's knowledge base is built from Bungie's own lore books and the community-maintained Destinypedia, retrieved on demand. Ask who Savathûn is, what happened at the Twilight Gap, or why your new gun's flavor text is a threat — and get an answer in character as Commander Zavala, Titan Vanguard. It replies in your language, whatever language you ask in.

Honest about what it can't do

The advisor cannot dismantle items (the Bungie API has no such endpoint — nothing can be destroyed from outside the game), cannot see gear you have not synced, and will tell you when it does not know something rather than guess. AI features are optional and can be ignored entirely; the appraisal engine works without them.

Example prompts

“What's the best void heavy in my vault for a Grandmaster?”
“I have four copies of Better Devils — which should I keep and why?”
“Build me a solar Titan loadout for Salvation's Edge.”
“Explain what Bait and Switch does and which of my weapons roll it.”
“Who is Savathûn?”
