Most loadout guides end with a weapon you never got. Shard or Keep builds loadouts from your synced vault — every recommendation is something you can equip right now.
Tell the builder "Grandmaster Nightfall this week" or "an arc build with fast abilities" and it assembles the whole picture: weapons that match the build's element and ability loop, the right exotic armor with its intrinsic explained, subclass aspects and fragments, armor mods and the artifact perks you have actually unlocked. The reasoning is saved with the loadout.
Applying a loadout equips the gear, switches the subclass and sets the sockets that differ — paced against Bungie's API rate limits and tolerant of items that moved since the build was saved. In-game loadout slots are supported too: snapshot a build into a slot and swap to it without opening the app again.
Every item referenced by a saved loadout is automatically shard-protected: it disappears from the Shard List and bulk actions refuse to touch it. Deleted or transferred items render as ghosts in the loadout so you can repair a build instead of losing it silently.
Every loadout gets a public share page rendered from a snapshot — name, icons, perks, mods and subclass — that friends can open without an account, even if you later change the build.
