What the The When and Where perks do

Adaptive Frame

A well-rounded grip, reliable and sturdy.

Volatile Launch

This weapon is optimized for an especially explosive payload. • Greatly increases blast radius • Slightly decreases handling speed • Slightly decreases projectile speed

Confined Launch

This weapon's launch parameters are particularly stable. • Greatly increases stability • Increases blast radius • Decreases projectile speed

Countermass

This weapon is weighted for vertical recoil. • Greatly controls recoil • Increases stability • Increases handling speed

Hard Launch

This weapon's launch barrel is optimized for projectile speed. • Greatly increases projectile speed • Decreases stability • Slightly decreases blast radius

Linear Compensator

This weapon's launch barrel is well-balanced. • Slightly increases projectile speed • Slightly increases blast radius • Slightly increases stability

Quick Launch

This weapon's barrel provides faster projectiles and much faster aiming. • Greatly increases handling speed • Increases projectile speed

Smart Drift Control

This barrel is broadly optimized for firing control. • Moderately controls recoil • Increases stability • Increases handling speed • Slightly increases projectile speed

Alloy Casing

Reduces weight for faster reloads. • Greatly increases reload speed • Decreases stability

Black Powder

This weapon's explosives are more effective. • Slightly increases blast radius • Decreases stability

High-Velocity Rounds

This weapon's projectiles are particularly light and quick. • Increases projectile speed • Increases reload speed

Implosion Rounds

This weapon's projectiles travel faster and have a controlled explosion. • Increases projectile speed • Greatly increases stability • Decreases blast radius

Impact Casing

Increases Impact damage by 10%, resulting in a 2.2% total damage increase (not accounting for other damage perks). High-Impact Rocket Launchers only receive a 1.03% total damage increase.

Chill Clip

While at/above 50% of the Base Magazine Capacity: Direct Hits apply 60 Slow Stacks for 4 [1.5] seconds (8 [2] with Whisper of Durance) to enemies within 4 meters of the target. Micro-Missile Sidearms and Rapid-Fire Fusion Rifles only apply 40 Slow Stacks. Only activates once per shot/burst.

Clown Cartridge

Reloading randomly overfills the Magazine from reserves by 10% to 50% of the base Magazine Capacity (rounded up). Works out to a 30% overfill on average.

Impulse Amplifier

Passively grants 20 Reload Speed and 15% decreased Reload Animation Duration (20% for Rocket Launchers). Passively increases Projectile Velocity based on Weapon Archetype: • Rocket Launchers: 10% • Support-Frame Auto Rifles: 15% • Micro-Missile Frame Weapons: 25%

Field Prep

Grants the following while Crouched: • 50 Reload Speed • 0.8x Reload Duration Multiplier • 0.8x Ready/Stow Duration Multiplier Passively grants 20 Ammo Generation stat. (50% more than 1 Ammo Generation armor mod)

Overflow

Upon picking up Special or Heavy Ammo: Refills and Overfills the Magazine from reserves. Overfill amount maxes out at 100% of the Magazine Capacity. Activates even while stowed.

Demolitionist

Weapon Kills grant 10% Grenade Ability Energy. Kills with Sniper Rifles, Shotguns, Glaives, and Fusion Rifles grant 20%. Using your Grenade Ability refills the Magazine with a 3 second cooldown. Ability energy gained may be significantly decreased based on your selected ability's Chunk Energy Scalar. Learn more about this mechanic in our explainer blog post on the Clarity website.

Reconstruction

Every 6 seconds while not firing the weapon: Loads 25% of the Magazine Capacity (rounded up) into the Magazine from reserves. Can overfill the Magazine up to double the normal capacity. Works even while stowed.

Explosive Light

Orb of Power pickups (even while the weapon is stowed) grant 1 Stack of Explosive Light. Maximum of 6 Stacks. Firing the weapon comsumes 1 Stack per Shot, granting increased damage and 100 Blast Radius. Grenade Launchers: 60% increased Explosive damage. Rocket Launchers: 25% increased Impact and Explosive damage. (Does not affect Wolfpack Rounds)

Elemental Honing

Dealing Elemental Damage grants a stack of Elemental Honing for 20 seconds for each unique Element used. Maximum of 5 stacks. Gaining a stack refreshes the buff duration. Duration cannot be refreshed once at 5 stacks. Buff can be activated while stowed. Kinetic Damage does not trigger the buff. Weapon damage increase at 1|2|3|4|5 stacks by weapon damage type: • Kinetic: 10%|20%|30%|35%|40% • Elemental (PVE): 2.5%|10%|20%|30%|35% • Elemental (PVP): 1.25%|5%|20%|30%|35%

Bipod

Increases Magazine Capacity by 1 and Total Reserve Size by 5. Decreases Firing Delay by 25%. Decreases Blast Radius by 30, Reload Speed by 20, and damage by 25% (also applies to Wolfpack Rounds and Cluster Bombs).

Desperate Measures

Weapon Kills grant 'Desperate Measures x1' (DMx1), increasing damage by 10% for 7 seconds. Grenade or Melee Kills grant 20% increased damage for 7 seconds (DMx2). Scoring another Grenade or Melee Kill with DMx2 active increases this to 30% (DMx3). Can be activated while stowed. Weapon, Grenade, and Melee Kills refresh the buff duration.

Bait and Switch

Dealing damage with a weapon starts a 7 second timer. Dealing additional weapon damage resets the timer to 7 seconds. Dealing damage with all 3 of your weapons without letting the timer run out grants you 'Bait and Switch' for 10 seconds, granting 30% increased damage. Timer is disabled while Bait and Switch is active, requiring a full activation sequence once the buff expires.

Surrounded

Being within 15 meters of 3 Enemies grants 40% increased damage. Buff lingers for 1.5 seconds once the condition is no longer met. Exceptions: • Swords only receive a 35% damage increase. • Grenade and Rocket Launchers receive a 35% Explosive Damage increase and a 40% Impact Damage increase. • Wolfpack Rounds receive a 35% Explosive Damage increase.

Reaper's Tithe

Grants stacks of 'Reaper's Tithe' based on the number of simultaneously killed enemies. Maximum of 4 stacks. (e.g. triple kill ⇒ 3 stacks) 'Reaper's Tithe' grants 20%|30%|40% increased damage for 15 seconds at 2|3|4 stacks (1st stack does not exist). Timer only starts after firing. Additional Weapon Kills extend the buff duration by 6 seconds, but not beyond the initial 15-second duration. Scoring a higher number of simultaneous Kills than the currently active stack count will not "upgrade" the buff.

Frame of Reference

Weapon Kills grant a stack of 'Frame of Reference' for 8 seconds. Maximum of 5 stacks. 'Frame of Reference' timer is paused while stowed. Remaining duration is rounded up to a whole number of seconds. 'Frame of Reference' benefits at 1|2|3|4|5 stacks: • 1.45%|2.8%|4.2%|5.6%|7% increased weapon damage • ?|?|?|?|? Range • ?|?|?|?|?
