pandapaxxy (PvE / M+KB / Controller): "Probably the most hyped weapon from this season. Rightfully so the Igneous Hammer is an incredible weapon. Rapid Hit and Incandescent for clearing rooms, or Golden Tricorn with solar builds to have the highest damage possible." Recommended MW: Reload.

pandapaxxy (PvP / Controller): "Igneous Hammer is a real do-it-all but the crucible is where the Hammer can flex its wings. Keep Away with Eye of the Storm is going to be the best perk combo to look for. Fragile Focus is nice but requires you to not get hit. Rapid Hit is a great shout but you have to hit your crits in order to gain the benefits. Miss a shot and it's almost like starting from zero. If you want something that doesn't require you to get hit you can opt for Moving Target or Opening Shot to pair with Keep Away" Recommended MW: Stability.

Inspired by @PodvsEnemies Podcast vs Enemies episode 77 (https://open.spotify.com/episode/4RxkTOwLINWvKzUitNoAFy?si=1426d1f760c544b5) with @ImpetusAlways and @Saint_Kabr while @CourtProjects is on holiday. Backup PvE pick for add clearing Minor Spec enemies in end-game content. Igneous Hammer is back, with the best stats of any Aggressive Hand Cannons in the game (as at v7.2.0.3), and a new and very chasable trait pairing. Handling and Stability could both do with a bump, so Fluted Barrel is the top choice, and then Corkscrew Rifling is the alternate. Flared Magwell layers on reload speed and a bit more stability, or you can use any of the combat effect mag perks to good effect. In the first trait column as the support perk, Heal Clip is the new hotness for a burst of Cure for you and your nearby fireteam when reloading after a kill. In the second column signature perk slot, you could pair it with Incandescent for some solar synergy, Golden Tricorn for the damage buffs or Precision Instrument for escalating single target crit damage. Recommended MW: Handling or Stability, with a damage-boosting (Minor or Taken Spec), or Backup Mag mod.|tags: PvE, PvE-MinorSpec, PvE-God, PvE-EndGame, M+KB, Controller

You can use any of the combat effect mag perks to good effect - hopefully you'll drop your preference. In the first trait column as the support perk, Rapid Hit pumps up stability and reload speed. Then, in the second column signature perk slot, you could pair it with frenzy to max out handling and reload speed, and 15% damage, Incandescent for some solar synergy, Golden Tricorn for the opportunity of a 50% damage buff when properly procced or Precision Instrument for escalating single target crit damage. First-choice PvE pick for add clearing Minor Spec enemies in end-game content. Igneous Hammer is back, with the best stats of any Aggressive Hand Cannons in the game (as at v7.2.0.3), and a new and very chasable trait pairing. Handling and Stability could both do with a bump, but we can sort handling with traits, so Polygonal Rifling provides the biggest boost in the barrel, followed by Chambered Compensator, Smallbore, Fluted Barrel and then Corkscrew Rifling. We can sort reload speed out with a trait too, so you can choose any of the combat effect rounds as your mag perk. In the first trait column as the support perk, the new combination worth chasing is Heal Clip, for the Cure for yourself and nearby fireteam on reloads after a kill, and then Frenzy as the second column signature perk to maximise handling and reload speed along with the useful 15% buff to damage. What these Igneous Hammer (Adept) perks do

Armor-Piercing Rounds

Grants 5% increased damage against Elemental and Barrier Champion Shields. Allows bullets to overpenetrate enemies once.

Heal Clip

Finishing a reload within 5.3? seconds of a Kill grants Cure x2 to you and Cure x1 to allies within 15 meters.

Frenzy

After being in Combat for 12 seconds: Grants 15% increased damage, 100 Handling, and 100 Reload Speed for 7.2 seconds. Works and can activate while stowed. Dealing and receiving damage refreshes the buff duration. For Frenzy, being in Combat is defined as having either dealt or received damage within the last 5 seconds. Self-damage and environmental damage do not count.

High-Caliber Rounds

Hits inflict increased Flinch on Enemies. PVE: Tier 1-2 Minors can be repeatedly staggered. Higher Tier Combatants stagger quicker. PVP: Flinch against Players varies based on damage and Weapon Archetype. Flinch increase ranges between 5-10%.

Incandescent

Weapon Kills trigger a Solar explosion that applies 30 Scorch Stacks (40 with Ember of Ashes) and deals up to 30 damage to enemies within 4 meters of the target. Killing Elite or higher tier Combatants and Players increases the radius to 8 meters and applies 10 more Scorch Stacks. Scorch damage can be increased through Weapon Damage Buffs.

Golden Tricorn

While the perk's buff isn't active, Weapon Kills grant 'Golden Tricorn x1' for 7 seconds, increasing weapon damage by 15%. Additional Kills refresh the buff duration. While Golden Tricorn x1 or x2 is active: Grenade or Elemental Melee Kills matching the element of the Weapon grant Golden Tricorn x2 for 10 seconds, increasing weapon damage by 50%. Clarity tooltip editor's note: We're replacing the previous Powered Melee term with Elemental Melee. The former is now exclusively used for perks that require the consumption of a Melee Ability Charge. This note is temporary and will be removed in the future.

Precision Instrument

Direct Weapon Hits grant a stack of Precision Instrument for 1.25 seconds (2.1 seconds on weapons with a Draw/Charge Time). Maximum of 6 stacks. Reloading the weapon (except on Bows) or missing removes all stacks... usually. Heavy Burst Frame weapons can only gain 1 stack per burst. Adaptive Burst Linear Fusion Rifles require 1.5? Hits for each stack (and missing sometimes does not remove your stacks on them). Precision damage increase at 1|2|... stacks: 4.17% | 8.33% | 12.5% | 16.67% | 20.83% | 25%

Rapid Hit

"Buffed Hits" grant 1 Stack of Rapid Hit for 2 seconds. Maximum of 5 Stacks. "Buffed Hits" refer to any "Yellow Number" Hits such as Precision Hits or Hits against debuffed targets. Benefits at 1|2|3|4|5 Stacks: • 2|12|14|18|25 Stability • 5|30|35|42|60 Reload Speed • 0.99x|0.96x|0.95x|0.945x|0.92x Reload Duration Multiplier

Keep Away

While no enemies are within 15 meters: Grants 10 Range, 30 Reload Speed, and decreases Accuracy Cone Growth by 5?%.

Eye of the Storm

Grants a scaling buff to Handling and Accuracy as your Shield Health drops below 40 and reaches maximum strength at 0 Shield HP. Buff at maximum strength grants: • 30 Handling • 40% decreased Accuracy Cone Size • 17% decreased Accuracy Cone Growth The buff linearly scales from 0% at 80 Shield HP to 100% at 0 Shield HP (Critical Health). It initially triggers as you drop to 40 Shield HP — giving you 50% of the maximum buff. However, as you regenerate your Shield Health, the buff will still remain until you reach 80 Shield HP where the benefits scale down to zero.

Moving Target

Grants the following while Aiming Down Sights (ADS): • 10 Aim Assist • 10% decreased ADS Movement Speed Penalty

Opening Shot

Grants the following benefits for your first shot (of the burst): • 20 Aim Assist and 25 Range • 5% decreased Accuracy Cone Size • 10% decreased Accuracy Cone Growth Special weapons only receive 50% of the benefits. Stats are rounded up. Firing the weapon prevents the perk from activating for 3 seconds.

Fragile Focus

Passively grants 20 Range but deactivates if you drop to 0 Shield HP (Critical Health). Buff reactivates 1 second after your Shields HP fully regenerates.
