Constructed by @Adamsdown_Boy (PvE PvE-Utility PvE-EndGame PvE-God M+KB Controller): First-choice PvE roll for damage against constructs and vehicles in activities rated Normal, Hard or Very Hard difficulty. Line in the Sand is a precision linear fusion rifle, which are rated B-Tier for endgame PvE by @TheAegisRelic tiering spreadsheet https://linktr.ee/TheAegisRelic for "total damage standout, notable for solo due to less reliance on reload/Div vs. A499 and Particle access". The frame intrinsic offers built in Anti-Barrier, and a ×0.9 reduction in horizontal recoil as per the https://www.destiny2.science/ Destiny Data Compendium. The stats are decent by comparison with its peers - you can see them at https://destiny.report/w/2450049485/line-in-the-sand and hopefully https://d2foundry.gg/w/2450049485 will show how weapon stats impact in-game performance when the site is back up and running. With precision frames, you need to worry less about recoil control so look to improve Handling or maybe Stability. As the battery perk, Accelerated Coils improves charge time by 40ms at the cost of ×0.98 base damage, or Enhanced Battery gets you to the max 7 shots. For a very niche roll, where there are constructs and vehicles present, such as the Threshers and Tank in Arms Dealer GMNF or Zoetic Lockset Shriekers in Sundered Doctrine, in the first trait perk column Deconstruct grants ×1.4 damage against vehicles and constructs and refills 10% of the battery from reserves after 3 hits within 6s, or 5 hits when the target isn't a vehicle or construct. In the second column, to boost damage further, Bait and Switch boosts damage by ×1.3 for 10s (11s when enhanced) for doing damage with your other two weapons, or Firing Line boosts crit damage by ×1.2 when you're within 15m of two or more allies in a fireteam. The Cast No Shadows origin trait refills 20% of the magazine and boosts handling on a melee hit, so isn't much use for this roll unfortunately. If you're interested, the name plays on the classic idiom of "drawing a line in the sand" - setting an absolute boundary that an enemy is forbidden to cross, reflected in the weapon's lore and flavour text. Recommended MW: Charge Time, with a Backup Mag or Charge Time mod or your preferred choice to boost weapon stats, ammo generation, or elemental pickups for builds.|tags:PvE PvE-Utility PvE-EndGame PvE-God M+KB Controller

pandapaxxy (PvE / M+KB / Controller): "One of the beloved weapons from Season of the Dawn is Line in the Sand. Rapid Hit or Clown Cartridge are your best bets in column 3 with a specific niche using Deconstruction. Firing Line is the easiest damage bonus to activate but doesn’t work in small fireteams or solo, that’s where Bait and Switch or the new to linear fusions Reservoir Burst comes in. Ionized Battery, Clown Cartridge and Reservoir Burst bring the magazine up to 11 (normally 7) allowing 5 continuous Reservoir Burst shots. While Voltshot is present on this fusion I didn’t find it as useful compared to a primary or special weapon." Recommended MW: Charge Time.

pandapaxxy (PvP / M+KB / Controller): "Over in PvP you’re going to want to boost up accuracy perks and charge time perks. Accelerated Coils and a Charge Time masterwork drop the charge time to what feels like near-instant. Rapid Hit will be the best if you’re going to be using all your heavy in one go. Moving Target or even Under Pressure will be better if you’re a bit more careful with your heavy ammo. Under Pressure on this weapon will really make it sticky, paired with Opening Shot to make hitting headshots easier than ever." Recommended MW: Charge Time.

Inspired by @PodvsEnemies episode 115 from 6 September 2024 (https://open.spotify.com/episode/6axWXT6NCn4jZVuRkCTfiu?si=72aafbad8138409a) with @ImpetusAlways, @CourtProjects and @Saint_Kabr (PvE PvE-Boss PvE-BossSpec PvE-EndGame PvE-God M+KB Controller): First-choice PvE pick for sustained damage against bosses in end-game content. Line in the Sand is back from the great sunsetting and provides an avenue for new players to obtain a solid arc LFR if you don't already have one. Its stats are decent at base - 26 Handling equates to 0.46s ready, 0.37s ADS speed and 0.37s stow speed, while the Reload Speed of 23 is a 2.44s reload and you'll start with 23 total ammo (24/26/27 with 1/2/3 reserve mods). Handling can be improved with the right barrel perk, to improve snappiness and, with there being only one way to the maximum battery size of 7 shots, which is Ionized Battery and a Backup Mag mod (although this does increase reload time to 2.81s). In the trait perk slots, for boss damage, Rapid Hit can offset the reload speed malus - 5 crits bring the reload to 1.72s and boost stability by 25 to make landing crits easier or, if you can live with the slow reload, Clown Cartridge can overflow your mag so it's at 8-11 shots. Pair one of those with Bait and Switch for a ×1.3 damage boost for 10s when procced. Unless you're using a ranged melee, you probably won't see much benefit from the Cast No Shadows origin trait which reloads, and boosts handling for a short time on dealing melee damage. Recommended MW: Charge Time, with a Backup Mag mod.|tags:PvE PvE-Boss PvE-BossSpec PvE-EndGame PvE-God M+KB Controller

Reservoir Burst will apply a ×1.25 damage boost to the first 2-5 shots, and proc an explosion on a kill for chunky AoE damage. Unless you're using a ranged melee, you probably won't see much benefit from the Cast No Shadows origin trait which reloads, and boosts handling for a short time on dealing melee damage. For an easy ×1.2 damage boost with easy proccing conditions (just stand near your fireteam), Firing Line is still a decent choice. Unless you're using a ranged melee, you probably won't see much benefit from the Cast No Shadows origin trait which reloads, and boosts handling for a short time on dealing melee damage.
