warlockmaggie (PvP / M+KB / Controller): "I'll admit it, I love Aggressive Frames in PvP! That said, Long Arm did lose some perks for PvP in the reissue, so we'll make do. Other than Precision Instrument, Long Arm doesn't have much to offer for damage perks; instead, you can lean into the hip fire build of Hip-Fire Grip + Keep Away (or ADS with Lone Wolf, but who wants to do that with this renegade repeater?). Flinch is a real concern, so make sure you have some additional Stability, otherwise you'll not have a good time with this gun." Recommended MW: Stability or Handling

warlockmaggie (PvE / M+KB / Controller): "Long Arm was the first legendary "cowboy gun" and it's now back with a shiny new look and even shinier perks! Redirection continues to surprise me in how much that 33% damage bonus helps against Elites and other chonky enemies, whereas Rolling Storm is a nice addition for your Arc 3.0 builds. Stability will help keep your shots from being too wild and Reload helps jam those bullets back in so you can take down some varmints!" Recommended MW: Stability or Reload Speed

Inspired by @PodvsEnemies episode 139 from 13 May 2025 (https://open.spotify.com/episode/0m6Sfdv88fNZmYm9A6PdVR?si=140d643338154357) with @ImpetusAlways @CourtProjects and @Saint_Kabr (PvE PvE-MinorSpec PvE-God PvE-EndGame M+KB Controller): First-choice PvE pick for clearing Minor adds in both general at-level or better, and end-game underleveled content. Long Arm was the first of the legendary aggressive scout rifles, and it's still holding up against its competition. Against Minor adds, it's as good as or better than a hand cannon for damage but that drops off against Elites or better enemies. At base, by comparison with its peers, the stats are good - d2foundry.gg calculates that 55 Range equates to 77.75m ADS and 38.87m hipfire before damage dropoff, 25 Stability is ×1.1112 flinch resist at 100 Resilience, 53 Handling is 0.39s ready, 0.32s ADS and 0.37s stow speed, 45 Reload Speed is a 1.91s reload, Recoil Direction is 94, Zoom is 12, and magazine size is 26 (max 40). A little bit of Stability and Handling from the barrel perk are useful to improve gunfeel and control. For the magazine perk, look to speed up the reload a bit. To help speed up reload further, Dual Loader in the first trait perk column loads two bullets at a time (three when enhanced) or as an alternative, Rapid Hit at 5 stacks boosts Stability by +25, Reload Speed by +60 and applies an animation multiplier of ×0.92. Then to improve damage where you need it, Redirection builds up two stacks per hit against minors to a maximum of 30, which you can use at a rate of 3 stacks pers shot for ×1.33 damage against Elites and Bosses (×1.5 for 2 stacks per shot when enhanced!). The Tex Balanced Stock is there if you like hipfiring, but the Gravity Well origin trait can be very useful to pick up ammo bricks within 5m on a manual reload. Recommended MW: Handling or Stability, with an Adept Backup Mag mod or, when masterworked, Synergy to create Ionic Traces or, when the artifact mod's around, Stunloader.|tags:PvE PvE-PvE-MinorSpec PvE-God PvE-EndGame M+KB Controller

Against Minor adds, it's as good as or better than a hand cannon for damage but that drops off against Elites or better enemies. The Tex Balanced Stock is there if you like hipfiring, but the Gravity Well origin trait can be very useful to pick up ammo bricks within 5m on a manual reload. What these Long Arm (Adept) perks do

Dual Loader

Reloading loads 1 additional round into the magazine at a time.

Redirection

Hits against Minor Combatants grant 2 Stacks of Redirection. Maximum of 30 Stacks. Stacks remain active while stowed. Hits against Elite or higher-ranked Combatants consume up to 3 Stacks to grant 33% increased damage per Stack consumed.

Rapid Hit

"Buffed Hits" grant 1 Stack of Rapid Hit for 2 seconds. Maximum of 5 Stacks. "Buffed Hits" refer to any "Yellow Number" Hits such as Precision Hits or Hits against debuffed targets. Benefits at 1|2|3|4|5 Stacks: • 2|12|14|18|25 Stability • 5|30|35|42|60 Reload Speed • 0.99x|0.96x|0.95x|0.945x|0.92x Reload Duration Multiplier

Rolling Storm

Weapon Kills grant 1 Stack of Bolt Charge. While Amplified, this is increased to 2 Stacks.

Dragonfly

Precision Kills cause targets to explode, dealing up to 123.89 [95.3] weapon-matching elemental damage in a 4.5-meter radius.

Subsistence

Weapon Kills refill 10% of the magazine (rounded up) from reserves. Submachine Gun and Auto Rifle Kills refill 17% of the magazine.

Hip-Fire Grip

Grants the following benefits while hipfiring: • 25 Stability and 15 Aim Assist • 2.7° larger Precision Aim Cone Angle • 30% decreased Accuracy Cone Size • 20% increased Aim Assist Falloff Distance • 20% increased Damage Falloff Distance The Damage Falloff increase does not apply to The Last Word, Shotguns, Sniper Rifles, and Fusion Rifles. PvP-specific note: the Precision Aim Cone Angle increase essentially just allows you to hit Crits while aimed above or slightly to the side of the head. (This is already the default behavior of Submachine Guns, Sidearms, Bows, Machine Guns, and Linear Fusion Rifles so it does not affect them)

Precision Instrument

Direct Weapon Hits grant a stack of Precision Instrument for 1.25 seconds (2.1 seconds on weapons with a Draw/Charge Time). Maximum of 6 stacks. Reloading the weapon (except on Bows) or missing removes all stacks... usually. Heavy Burst Frame weapons can only gain 1 stack per burst. Adaptive Burst Linear Fusion Rifles require 1.5? Hits for each stack (and missing sometimes does not remove your stacks on them). Precision damage increase at 1|2|... stacks: 4.17% | 8.33% | 12.5% | 16.67% | 20.83% | 25%

Lone Wolf

Passively grants 5 Aim Assist, 15 Airborne Effectiveness, and a 10% decreased ADS Animation Duration. While no allies are within 15 meters: Bonuses are increased to 10 Aim Assist, 30 Airborne Effectiveness, and a 20% decreased ADS Animation Duration.

Keep Away

While no enemies are within 15 meters: Grants 10 Range, 30 Reload Speed, and decreases Accuracy Cone Growth by 5?%.

Explosive Payload

Splits off 50% of the weapon's bodyshot damage into an Explosive Payload that detonates on impact. The Payload deals 30% increased damage in PvE and staggers PvE Combatants more. On Hand Cannons, the Payload deals 7% decreased damage in PvP. The remaining Impact damage portion receives an increased Crit Multiplier to compensate for the Payload not benefitting from crits. [PvE] Total damage is increased by 15% of the weapon's bodyshot damage. For crits, the overall increase is roughly equal to 15% divided by the Crit Multiplier. [PvP] Total damage remains roughly the same but can vary by 1-2% in either direction for crits.
