pandapaxxy (PvE / M+KB / Controller): "Triple Tap and Precision Instrument are a match made in heaven. Allow me to do more damage while keeping bullets back? Perfect. If you're a little less accurate or prefer an MLG COD NO SCOPE 420 twitch sensitivity, then maybe Keep Away with Voltshot would be better for you." Recommended MW: Reload Speed.

pandapaxxy (PvP / M+KB / Controller): "Sightlines Survey is a good hand cannon for dueling. Enhanced Precision Instrument will allow you to 3c lower resilience guardians with a blistering fast 0.67 TtK. This will allow you to compete with the likes of 140 and 120 hand cannons." Recommended MW: Range.

Inspired by @PodvsEnemies episode 106 from 3 July 2024 (https://open.spotify.com/episode/7jGtQ3pw94PV7XpXREQ094?si=ddb5fb64813048e1) with @Saint_Kabr, @ImpetusAlways and @CourtProjects (PvE / PvE-MinorSpec / PvE-EndGame / PvE-God / M+KB / Controller): First-choice PvE pick for add clearing in end-game content, particularly when using arc fragments. Shapeable. Sightline Survey is essentially how non-Raiding Guardians can craft a hand cannon with Voltshot. If you already have a Posterity, you can move along! The stats are towards the bottom of comparators although on the plus side, with the frame intrinsic, at least you don't have to worry about recoil direction. Handling could definitely do with a boost from the barrel perk - Fluted Barrel is best, with maybe Corkscrew Rifling instead if that's all the drops. For Voltshot, Reload Speed is key, which is a poor 2.54s at base - hence Flared Magwell (2.29s), or Tactical Mag (2.37s) as the magazine perk and, in the first trait perk column, Enlightened Action. You get three stacks per hit, so four hits will grant +50 Handling and Reload Speed for 2s, reducing reload time to 1.83s. Finally, in the second trait slot, the perk you've been building towards, Voltshot, for fast add-clearing and synergising with arc fragments that use Jolt. The Radiolaria Transposer origin trait is nice to have - the AoE damage isn't huge, but it is additional to weapon damage so what's not to like? Recommended MW: Handling, with a Backup Mag mod.

What these Sightline Survey perks do

Voltshot

Finishing a reload within 5.3 seconds of a Weapon Kill grants Voltshot for 7 seconds. While Voltshot is active, your next Weapon Hit consumes the buff and applies Jolt to the target. Applied Jolt's damage (generally) does not count as Weapon Damage.

Triple Tap

Scoring 3 Precision Hits within 2 seconds of each refills 1 Ammo into the Magazine from thin air. Cannot load the Magazine beyond its base capacity. Precision Hit counter persists through stow.

Precision Instrument

Direct Weapon Hits grant a stack of Precision Instrument for 1.25 seconds (2.1 seconds on weapons with a Draw/Charge Time). Maximum of 6 stacks. Reloading the weapon (except on Bows) or missing removes all stacks... usually. Heavy Burst Frame weapons can only gain 1 stack per burst. Adaptive Burst Linear Fusion Rifles require 1.5? Hits for each stack (and missing sometimes does not remove your stacks on them). Precision damage increase at 1|2|... stacks: 4.17% | 8.33% | 12.5% | 16.67% | 20.83% | 25%

Desperate Measures

Weapon Kills grant 'Desperate Measures x1' (DMx1), increasing damage by 10% for 7 seconds. Grenade or Melee Kills grant 20% increased damage for 7 seconds (DMx2). Scoring another Grenade or Melee Kill with DMx2 active increases this to 30% (DMx3). Can be activated while stowed. Weapon, Grenade, and Melee Kills refresh the buff duration.

Keep Away

While no enemies are within 15 meters: Grants 10 Range, 30 Reload Speed, and decreases Accuracy Cone Growth by 5?%.

Strategist

Weapon Kills grant 10% Class Ability Energy. Kills with Fusion Rifles, Glaives, Shotguns, and Sniper Rifles grant 20%. Class Ability usage grants ? Stability for ? seconds. Ability energy gained may be significantly decreased based on your selected ability's Chunk Energy Scalar. Learn more about this mechanic in our explainer blog post on the Clarity website.

Kill Clip

Finishing a reload within 3.6 seconds of a kill grants 25% increased damage for 5 seconds. Stowing the weapon removes the buff. Does not buff the Splash/Explosive damage elements of other perks.

Eye of the Storm

Grants a scaling buff to Handling and Accuracy as your Shield Health drops below 40 and reaches maximum strength at 0 Shield HP. Buff at maximum strength grants: • 30 Handling • 40% decreased Accuracy Cone Size • 17% decreased Accuracy Cone Growth The buff linearly scales from 0% at 80 Shield HP to 100% at 0 Shield HP (Critical Health). It initially triggers as you drop to 40 Shield HP — giving you 50% of the maximum buff. However, as you regenerate your Shield Health, the buff will still remain until you reach 80 Shield HP where the benefits scale down to zero.

Enlightened Action

Weapon Hits grant Stacks of Enlightened Action for 2 seconds. Maximum of 12 Stacks. Stat bonuses at 1|2|…|12 Stacks: 2|7|12|15|20|25|30|35|38|40|45|50 Handling and Reload Speed Stacks granted per hit by Weapon Type: • Hand Cannons: 3 Stacks • Bows: ? Stacks • Automatic Weapons: 1 Stack

To the Pain

Every 30 points of damage taken with the weapon readied grants a Stack of 'To the Pain'. Maximum of 10 Stacks. Stowing the weapon removes all Stacks. Each Stack grants ? Handling and 2 Aim Assist, maxing out at ? Handling and 20 Aim Assist. Self-damage and environmental damage do not count.
