pandapaxxy (PvE / M+KB / Controller): "Sleepless is an interesting rocket. It was great when rockets could be used everywhere and when we didn’t have to reload via Lunafaction Boots or Rally Barricades. Currently you’ll find very limited uses out of most rockets. There are a few options that have risen to the top, but it means most rockets are going to fall into general utility tools. Sleepless has Chain Reaction for better add clear, and Auto-Loading Holster for quality of life. You might be able to squeeze out some solid DPS with Field Prep but without a good damage perk you’ll fall behind almost immediately." Recommended MW: Velocity.

pandapaxxy (PvP / M+KB / Controller): "Crucible rockets need one thing, a great blast radius. Sleepless has that in droves. With a blast radius masterwork you’ll sit at 100 even, that way you can invest your other perks into velocity and handling, bringing up some of its lower stats. With Quick Launch and High-Velocity Rounds you’re looking at a nice 60 velocity. It won’t beat Impulse Amplifier for the quickest rocket but it will move. Chain Reaction then becomes great for dealing with multiple guardians in every gamemode." Recommended MW: Velocity.

First-choice PvE pick for add clearing Minor spec enemies in general content. Like other High-Impact Rocket Launchers with their high blast radius, Sleepless really only has one role, and that's add clearing - maybe for Gunsmith bounties. If you're going that way, you could maximise the Blast Radius with Volatile Launch as the barrel perk, and then boost Velocity with High-Velocity Rounds or reload Speed with Alloy Casing in the mag. You might as well have as many rockets to shoots as you can, so Field Prep boosts your reserves by one and reload speed further, as the first trait perk to support Chain Reaction in the second to really make sure that everything in the blast radius is dead. The Advanced Reflexes origin trait is quite useful in PvE - when activated by an enemy hit, it adds +30 Handling for additional ready and ADS speed, together with a handy +20 Mobility, for 7.5s. Recommended MW: Velocity or Reload Speed, with a damage boosting (Minor or Taken Spec) mod. Tags: PvE, PvE-MinorSpec, PvE-EndGame, PvE-God, M+KB, Controller

You might as well have as many rockets to shoot as you can, so Field Prep boosts your reserves and helps with reload speed, as the first trait perk to support Bipod - with all of this you'll have 15 rockets loading two at a time that still have 90 Blast Radius and a decent reload speed when crouched. What these Sleepless perks do

Chain Reaction

Weapon Kills trigger an elemental explosion matching the weapon's element. Damage and radius of the explosions varies based on the weapon's ammo type: • Special Weapons: Up to 67.2 [44.8] damage in a 2.4 meter radius • Power Weapons: Up to 109.2 [72.8] damage in a 3 meter radius

Field Prep

Grants the following while Crouched: • 50 Reload Speed • 0.8x Reload Duration Multiplier • 0.8x Ready/Stow Duration Multiplier Passively grants 20 Ammo Generation stat. (50% more than 1 Ammo Generation armor mod)

Bipod

Increases Magazine Capacity by 1 and Total Reserve Size by 5. Decreases Firing Delay by 25%. Decreases Blast Radius by 30, Reload Speed by 20, and damage by 25% (also applies to Wolfpack Rounds and Cluster Bombs).

Auto-Loading Holster

Refills stowed weapon from reserves after 3.5 seconds of it being stowed.

Impact Casing

Increases Impact damage by 10%, resulting in a 2.2% total damage increase (not accounting for other damage perks). High-Impact Rocket Launchers only receive a 1.03% total damage increase.

Tracking Module

While Aiming Down Sights and targeting an Enemy: Fired Rockets track the targeted enemy. Diminshed effectiveness in PVP. Tracking persists for 1 second once no longer aiming at the enemy.

Demolitionist

Weapon Kills grant 10% Grenade Ability Energy. Kills with Sniper Rifles, Shotguns, Glaives, and Fusion Rifles grant 20%. Using your Grenade Ability refills the Magazine with a 3 second cooldown. Ability energy gained may be significantly decreased based on your selected ability's Chunk Energy Scalar. Learn more about this mechanic in our explainer blog post on the Clarity website.

Permeability

Class Ability usage refills ?% of your Magazine (rounded up) from reserves and changes the weapon's element to match your Super Ability until stowed. Magazine Refill cannot be triggered again without stowing the weapon first. Kinetic weapons lose their Passive Damage Bonus against non-Boss PVE Combatants (10% on Primary, 15% on Special).

Wellspring

On Weapon Kill: Grants 8% Ability Energy split equally amongst all uncharged abilities. Abilities with multiple charges only receive one third of the ability energy normally split to them once they have a full ability charge ready. Ability energy gained may be significantly decreased based on your selected ability's Chunk Energy Scalar. Learn more about this mechanic in our explainer blog post on the Clarity website.
