[YeezyGT's WQ] [MW: Any] "Syncopation feels somewhat standard as a 390RPM, with a decent suite of perks. There's some interesting PvP capabilities here with Enhanced Hip-Fire Grip, though for PvE, I'd say it works as you'd expect, with very few surprises."

pandapaxxy (PvP / M+KB): "If one pulse screamed consistency this pulse would do it. PvP falls into one of two categories. Consistency or lethality. Syncopation doesn’t have anything to push it into the 2 burst realm outside of person buffs (empowering rift, inertia override, etc) but it does have utter consistency. Arrowhead cleans up the recoil perfectly, while high-caliber rounds makes it harder to get hit in return. Then the choice between moving target, the newly buffed hip-fire grip in combination with headseeker or rangefinder." Recommended MW - Range.

pandapaxxy (PvE / M+KB / Controller): "Syncopation is in an interesting spot right now. It competes with Eyasluna, the previous best headstone weapon while also being able to make crystals, but from further ranges. Being a pulse rifle puts it in a better spot for range and having multiple bullets per burst rivals hand cannon’s big single shot damage. The unfortunate part is no rapid hit to maximize the weapons feel, but it does have some incredible utility with stasis builds and general crystal shattering." Recommended MW - Reload.

Inspired by DMB Player Versus Enemies Podcast 13. PvE first-choice roll for stasis builds. Shapeable. Solid feeling weapon - could do with a tiny bit of help with recoil direction in the barrel, and then your choice of mag perk for stability, range, reload speed or combat effect. Maybe more PvP options with the traits, but Outlaw and Headstone provide a solid choice of weapon for stasis builds. Recommended MW: Handling or Reload Speed, with Backup Mag or damage-boosting (Minor, Major, or Taken Spec) mod.

What these Syncopation-53 perks do

Outlaw

Precision Kills grant 70 Reload Speed with a 0.9x decreased Reload Animation Duration for 6 seconds. Buff is removed on stow.

Vorpal Weapon

Deals increased damage against Minibosses, Bosses, and Vehicles, as well as Players in their Super Ability. Damage increase by Ammo Type: • Primary Weapons: 20% [60%] • Special Weapons: 15% [20%] • Power Weapons: 10% [20%]

Headstone

Precision Kills create a Large Stasis Crystal at the target's location. Tier 1-2 Minor and Tier 1 Elite Combatants only spawn a Medium Stasis Crystal. Creating 5 Crystals within ? seconds prevents the perk from activating for 5 seconds.

Focused Fury

Scoring 35% of the Base Magazine Capacity as Precision Hits grants 25% increased damage for 11 seconds. Stowing or Reloading the weapon resets the Precision Hit counter. The buff remains active while stowed. Does not buff the Splash/Explosive damage elements of other perks.

Moving Target

Grants the following while Aiming Down Sights (ADS): • 10 Aim Assist • 10% decreased ADS Movement Speed Penalty

High-Caliber Rounds

Hits inflict increased Flinch on Enemies. PVE: Tier 1-2 Minors can be repeatedly staggered. Higher Tier Combatants stagger quicker. PVP: Flinch against Players varies based on damage and Weapon Archetype. Flinch increase ranges between 5-10%.

Rangefinder

Aiming Down Sights grants the following benefits: • 10 Range • 10% increased Effective Zoom • 5% increased Projectile Speed The Effective Zoom increase pushes out Aim Assist Falloff by 10%, reduces (Absolute) Recoil by 10% and narrows the Accuracy and Aim Assist Cones by the same amount. (This is the normal behavior of Zoom and isn't unique to Rangefinder)

Hip-Fire Grip

Grants the following benefits while hipfiring: • 25 Stability and 15 Aim Assist • 2.7° larger Precision Aim Cone Angle • 30% decreased Accuracy Cone Size • 20% increased Aim Assist Falloff Distance • 20% increased Damage Falloff Distance The Damage Falloff increase does not apply to The Last Word, Shotguns, Sniper Rifles, and Fusion Rifles. PvP-specific note: the Precision Aim Cone Angle increase essentially just allows you to hit Crits while aimed above or slightly to the side of the head. (This is already the default behavior of Submachine Guns, Sidearms, Bows, Machine Guns, and Linear Fusion Rifles so it does not affect them)

Headseeker

Dealing non-Precision Direct damage grants the following benefits for 0.55 seconds: • 20% increased Precision Bonus (complicated, see specific damage increases below) • 3% increased Aim Assist Cone size Precision damage increases by weapon type/frame: • Pulse Rifles: Adaptive: 7.1%, Aggressive Burst: 10%, Heavy Burst: 9.5%, High-Impact: 8.74%, Lightweight: 6.3%, Rapid-Fire: 10.3% • Sidearms: Adaptive Burst: 8.46%, Heavy Burst: 7.36% • Scout Rifles: Precision: 8.66% [Bug] Heavy Burst Hand Cannons: 7% increased Weakspot damage. The distinction between Weakspots and Critspots is complicated and we might write an explainer blog post about it eventually. For the purposes of PvP, the two are equivalent.

Outlaw

Precision Kills grant 70 Reload Speed with a 0.9x decreased Reload Animation Duration for 🡅7 seconds. Buff is removed on stow. 🡅 Buff duration is increased by 1 second.

Headstone

Precision Kills create a Large Stasis Crystal at the target's location. Creating 5 Crystals within ? seconds prevents the perk from activating for 5 seconds. 🡅 Low-tier enemy kills also spawn a Large Stasis Crystal instead of a Medium one.

Frenzy

After being in Combat for 12 seconds: Grants 15% increased damage, 100 Handling, and 100 Reload Speed for 7.2 seconds. Works and can activate while stowed. Dealing and receiving damage refreshes the buff duration. For Frenzy, being in Combat is defined as having either dealt or received damage within the last 5 seconds. Self-damage and environmental damage do not count.
