Inspired by @PodvsEnemies Podcast vs Enemies episode 61 (https://open.spotify.com/episode/35xKd0TwFvvOyymsE9Wp5H) with @Saint_Kabr, @CourtProjects and @ImpetusAlways. Backup PvE pick for Strand synergy minor add clear in endgame activities. Named after a ghost that frightened horses at a particular spot on the Olympia race course during ancient games there. Our first Lightweight Strand scout rifle has only one direct kinetic slot competitor in Night Watch, and is pretty comparable in stats, although will do 10% less damage, as a non-kinetic weapon. For min-maxxers, the +30 Mobility from the intrinsic perk can help to flesh out builds. Taraxippos is fast-firing, so you will need to tidy up the 54 Recoil Direction. Chambered Compensator or Extended Barrel will get you to a slightly better 64. In the magazine, Tactical Mag and Flared Magwell both offer useful boosts to stability and reload speed (and an extra shot for Tac Mag). If you're still finding the recoil difficult, you can proc all 5 stacks of Zen Moment with just three hits, in the first trait column as your support perk. If you're not finding it a problem, than Fourth Time's The Charm is always welcome to extend your mag size, or Outlaw works well for a snappy reload after a crit kill. Then Hatchling in the second column as the signature perk builds into the Strand toolkit - just come to peace that they're likely to be spawned too far away to join you, if you're a Warlock. The Classy Contender Origin Perk is useful - who would say no to extra class ability energy? Or, Omolon Fluid Dynamics adds stability and reload speed to the top half of your mag. Recommended MW: Range, Stability or Handling - just go with your preference, with a damage-boosting (Minor or Taken Spec) or Backup Mag mod|tags: PvE, PvE-MinorSpec, PvE-EndGame, Controller, M+KB

pandapaxxy (PvE / M+KB / Controller): "Speedy reloads and threadlings? Heck yeah boi. Definitely go for Arrowhead Brake so you have a decent recoil direction. Lightweight scouts don't need much but anything helps. Tactical Mag or Appended Mag are going to be the best here. Small shout out to Flared Magwell, but with Outlaw you won't need a lot of reload. I'd take more bullets for this one." Recommended MW: Handling.

pandapaxxy (PvP / M+KB): "Moving Target is arguably the best in slot for the third column, and kill clip will allow for some spicy three taps. Definitely keep an eye out for this one. Again Arrowhead Brake is recommended for allowing you to focus less on controlling the recoil and more about crits. Steady Rounds will bump up the stability meaning you have less jump each shot. You shouldn't have to worry about the range drop as scouts have different metrics for range. Handling or stability for masterwork depending on how fast you like your weapons. [...] You won't necessarily need the range boost, but you don't need the stability boost from steady rounds either. So use that knowledge for what you'd like. There's no bad mag perk other than extended mag." Recommended MW: Handling.

SirStallion_ (PvE / M+KB / Controller): "Everybody is going to be looking for Hatchling on this thing, so I'm not unique in that respect. A strand scout is new and unique, so leaning into that newness and uniqueness is great, absolutely worth it. However.. I am not going to be looking for Outlaw, instead I'm looking for FTTC. Just to be a bit special? Yes. But also, Tactical Mag should bring the gun to a nice 16 mag size, which will play nicely with FTTC. The reload from Tac and MW will be more than enough and they don't have a kill condition, so personally I don't think I need outlaw. Obligatory Arrowhead because even on a scout rifle, 54 RD is brutal." Recommended MW: Reload.

SirStallion_

SirStallion_ (PvP / M+KB): "I just need to shoutout that Kill Clip is right there in slot 4 also, and that would be great too. However, my thought process with this roll is that I want to make any given engagement as easy for me as possible (High stab, Zen Moment) while also being as much of a nuisance for the enemy as I can (Low flinch intake, Explosive Payload) So while I do think the KC 3 taps will go hard, I'm here to be a menace, not a slayer. [...] While MnK won't actively benefit from Stability as much as Controller, the flinch resist is gonna be a big deal for this roll to work. So it may feel strange at first, but trust the process" Recommended MW: Stability.

Sneecher

pve mkb controller 1 wishlist roll

Sneecher (PvE / M+KB / Controller): "A new Strand weapon enters the fray! I'm always excited to get a new weapon type to add to my toolbox, and this weapon immediately gives us the Outlaw/Hatchling combo I've been waiting for (I still love you Round Robin). I expect to have a lot of dumb fun with this gun in PVE, especially in activities with a Strand surge (AKA all of them this season). Warlocks in particular should enjoy this combo, especially with Thread of Evolution, the Classy Contender trait, and an Empowering rift. That being said, Threadlings aren't the strongest choice for endgame PVE, and Lightweight frame scouts aren't my favorite in GMs either, so I expect this will just be a roll for fun, rather than a top tier PVE weapon. If you are intent on using this for GMs, you'll want Explosive Payload or maybe even Focused Fury instead." Recommended MW: Stability.

What these Taraxippos perks do

Gutshot Straight

While Aiming Down Sights: • Increased Body Shot damage • 15% decreased Auto Aim Cone Size (No effect on Magnetism AKA reticle stickiness) Body Shot damage increases: • Auto/Scout Rifle, Bow, Hand Cannon: 20% • Pulse/Trace Rifle, Sidearm, SMG: 10%

Cascade Point

After scoring a kill or multiple Precision Hits within 5 seconds of each with a different weapon: Readying this weapon reduces its Firing Delay for 2.5 seconds. Firing Delay is reduced by 30% on SMGs and Machine Guns and by 40% on other archetypes. Precision Hits requried per weapon archetype: • Bows, Linear Fusion/Sniper Rifles, Shotguns, Glaive Projectiles: 2 hits • Hand Cannons, Scout Rifles: 4 hits • Auto/Trace/Pulse Rifles, SMGs, Machine Guns, Sidearms: 6 hits

Explosive Payload

Splits off 50% of the weapon's bodyshot damage into an Explosive Payload that detonates on impact. The Payload deals 30% increased damage in PvE and staggers PvE Combatants more. On Hand Cannons, the Payload deals 7% decreased damage in PvP. The remaining Impact damage portion receives an increased Crit Multiplier to compensate for the Payload not benefitting from crits. [PvE] Total damage is increased by 15% of the weapon's bodyshot damage. For crits, the overall increase is roughly equal to 15% divided by the Crit Multiplier. [PvP] Total damage remains roughly the same but can vary by 1-2% in either direction for crits.

Hatchling

Scoring a Precision Kill or 3 kills within 3 seconds of each other spawns a Threadling at the target's location.

Outlaw

Precision Kills grant 70 Reload Speed with a 0.9x decreased Reload Animation Duration for 6 seconds. Buff is removed on stow.

Moving Target

Grants the following while Aiming Down Sights (ADS): • 10 Aim Assist • 10% decreased ADS Movement Speed Penalty

Kill Clip

Finishing a reload within 3.6 seconds of a kill grants 25% increased damage for 5 seconds. Stowing the weapon removes the buff. Does not buff the Splash/Explosive damage elements of other perks.

Fourth Time's the Charm

Scoring 4 Precision Hits within 2 seconds of each refills 2 Ammo into the Magazine from thin air. Cannot load the Magazine beyond its base capacity. Precision Hit counter persists through stow.

Zen Moment

Weapon Hits grant 1 Stack of the perk for 1 second up to the maximum of 5? Stacks. Benefits granted per Stack: • Grants ?% Flinch Resistance • Reduces Visual Weapon Shake by 15% • Reduces Reticle Bounce by 15% Stacks gained per Weapon Hit by weapon type: • Hand Cannons, Scout Rifles: 2? • Pulse Rifles, Sidearms: 1.5 • Other Weapons: 1

Encore

On Weapon Kill, for 7 seconds: Grants 1 Stack on Bodyshot Kills and 2 Stacks on Precision Kills. Maximum of 4 Stacks. Each stack grants 5 Range, 8 Stability, and -1.25% Accuracy Cone Size.

No Distractions

Grants 35% Flinch Resistance after 1 second of Aiming Down Sights (ADS) without firing. Remains active until you're no longer ADS. Timer starts as soon as the ADS input is pressed.
