pandapaxxy (PvP / M+KB / Controller): "Let’s talk about power creep. When Waking Vigil released it was a phenomenal arc hand cannon. Outclassed by Nation of Beasts for the best arc hand cannon. With its midlife refresh Waking Vigil was blessed with a reload perk and an AoE perk through Dragonfly. However it was still overshadowed by Nation of Beasts and by then Ancient Gospel. When the hand cannon merger happened, Waking Vigil lost its only claim to fame being a Lightweight hand cannon versus the aforementioned adaptives. While we still have some great perks going on currently, Waking Vigil is just a relic from the past." Recommended MW: Handling.

pandapaxxy (PvP / M+KB / Controller): "Waking Vigil used to be one of the most coveted energy hand cannons. A slimline model, access to Rangefinder and Opening Shot together to have an energy Dire Promise. Current form is a little less than stellar due to the lack of Slideshot, but it still retains the OG roll if you still care about Rangefinder." Recommended MW: Range.

Inspired by @PodvsEnemies Podcast vs Enemies episode 91 (https://open.spotify.com/episode/50NPk7xF3Tt6X3DVucE9jU?si=44d2b7d44a5a4aec) with @CourtProjects and @ImpetusAlways. First-choice PvE pick for add-clear of Minor Spec enemies in general content. As a former Lightweight HC that's been crowbarred into the Adaptive subfamily, the stats look very weird, with low range and stability but high handling and reload speed. If you haven't already got a decent arc hand cannon, then you could push out the range a bit, even at the cost of a little Handling, and add a little Stability. Any of the combat effect rounds in the mag perk slot (Armor-Piercing, High-Caliber or Ricochet Rounds) will add a tiny bit more range and utility in a firefight. Rapid Hit is the best support perk choice in the first column traits, although Perpetual Motion isn't bad either. Dragonfly in the second trait column as the signature perk is great for thinning out add crowds when you're hitting crits. The Advanced Reflexes origin trait is quite useful in PvE - when activated by an enemy hit, it adds +30 Handling for additional ready and ADS speed, together with a handy +20 Mobility, for 7.5s. Recommended MW: Range or Stability, with a damage boosting (Minor or Taken Spec) mod. Tags: PvE, PvE-MinorSpec, PvE-EndGame, M+KB, Controller

First-choice PvE pick for add-clear of Minor Spec enemies in general content, particularly with an arc subclass. Rapid Hit is the best support perk choice in the first column traits, although Perpetual Motion isn't bad either. If you don't already have a Voltshot hand cannon, this gives you access to one - jolting enemies lets you play into arc subclass verbs, and is great for crowd control and chunking down bulkier adds and the occasional major. The Advanced Reflexes origin trait is quite useful in PvE - when activated by an enemy hit, it adds +30 Handling (for additional ready and ADS speed, together with a handy +20 Mobility, for 7.5s. Rapid Hit is the best support perk choice in the first column traits, although Perpetual Motion isn't bad either. Although you don't need Ionic Traces specifically to use Collective Action as the signature perk in the second trait column, they have the advantage over other elemental pickups in end-game content of tracking to you automatically, rather than having to go out to collect them, for a solid +20% damage boost for 7s.
