warlockmaggie (PvE / M+KB / Controller): "Cold Comfort is one of three Aggressive Frame Stasis Rocket launchers, so how does it set itself apart from the competition? First, it boasts the best stats of the three. Second, Bait and Switch and Elemental Honing are only on Cold Comfort, both surperior perks for boss damage. For barrels and mag, a combination of keeping the velocity up and the blast radius low (avoiding self damage during boss fights)." Recommended MW: Velocity or Reload Speed.

warlockmaggie (PvP / M+KB / Controller): "Rocket Launchers can be highly effective in PvP, but they do require careful planning and aim. With an already high velocity, use Explosive Light to create a massive explosion in the blink of an eye. Otherwise, Chill Clip can provide a slowing effect that might be helpful? A little extra Blast Radius and Handling never hurts this weapon in the Crucible, so get barrels and perks with that in mind." Recommended MW: Blast Radius or Handling.

What these Cold Comfort (Adept) perks do

Bait and Switch

Dealing damage with a weapon starts a 7 second timer. Dealing additional weapon damage resets the timer to 7 seconds. Dealing damage with all 3 of your weapons without letting the timer run out grants you 'Bait and Switch' for 10 seconds, granting 30% increased damage. Timer is disabled while Bait and Switch is active, requiring a full activation sequence once the buff expires.

Impact Casing

Increases Impact damage by 10%, resulting in a 2.2% total damage increase (not accounting for other damage perks). High-Impact Rocket Launchers only receive a 1.03% total damage increase.

Envious Arsenal

Dealing any damage with both of your other weapons refills the magazine from reserves upon readying the weapon.

Elemental Honing

Dealing Elemental Damage grants a stack of Elemental Honing for 20 seconds for each unique Element used. Maximum of 5 stacks. Gaining a stack refreshes the buff duration. Duration cannot be refreshed once at 5 stacks. Buff can be activated while stowed. Kinetic Damage does not trigger the buff. Weapon damage increase at 1|2|3|4|5 stacks by weapon damage type: • Kinetic: 10%|20%|30%|35%|40% • Elemental (PVE): 2.5%|10%|20%|30%|35% • Elemental (PVP): 1.25%|5%|20%|30%|35%

Explosive Light

Orb of Power pickups (even while the weapon is stowed) grant 1 Stack of Explosive Light. Maximum of 6 Stacks. Firing the weapon comsumes 1 Stack per Shot, granting increased damage and 100 Blast Radius. Grenade Launchers: 60% increased Explosive damage. Rocket Launchers: 25% increased Impact and Explosive damage. (Does not affect Wolfpack Rounds)

Impulse Amplifier

Passively grants 20 Reload Speed and 15% decreased Reload Animation Duration (20% for Rocket Launchers). Passively increases Projectile Velocity based on Weapon Archetype: • Rocket Launchers: 10% • Support-Frame Auto Rifles: 15% • Micro-Missile Frame Weapons: 25%

Reconstruction

Every 6 seconds while not firing the weapon: Loads 25% of the Magazine Capacity (rounded up) into the Magazine from reserves. Can overfill the Magazine up to double the normal capacity. Works even while stowed.

Sword Logic

Weapon Kills grant Stacks of Sword Logic. The number of Stacks and the buff duration are tied to the highest Enemy Rank killed since activation: • Minors: 1 Stack for 5.5 seconds • Elites, Players: 2 Stacks for 7.5 seconds • Players in their Super and Minibosses: 3 Stacks for 10.5 seconds • Bosses: 4 Stacks for 15.5 seconds Damage increase at 1|2|3|4 Stacks: 15% | 25% [15%] | 35% | 50% Additional Kills refresh the buff duration to the duration tied to the highest Enemy Rank killed.

Chill Clip

While at/above 50% of the Base Magazine Capacity: Direct Hits apply 60 Slow Stacks for 4 [1.5] seconds (8 [2] with Whisper of Durance) to enemies within 4 meters of the target. Micro-Missile Sidearms and Rapid-Fire Fusion Rifles only apply 40 Slow Stacks. Only activates once per shot/burst.

Tracking Module

While Aiming Down Sights and targeting an Enemy: Fired Rockets track the targeted enemy. Diminshed effectiveness in PVP. Tracking persists for 1 second once no longer aiming at the enemy.

Perpetual Motion

While moving at a minimum of 2 meters per second: Grants a Stack of 'Perpetual Motion' after 2 seconds and a second Stack after 10 seconds. Each Stack provides 10 Stability, 10 Handling, and 10 Reload Speed. All Stacks are removed if movement speed is below 2 m/s for 0.5 seconds. Works and can activate while stowed.
