pandapaxxy (PvE / M+KB / Controller): "Falling Guillotine and its predecessor Dark-Drinker are some of my favorite swords. I still have my Guillotine and if it wasn't for the titan swords being so silly to run around with I'd still probably be using my Guillotine to this day. If you never got one from Arrivals or didn't get the roll you wanted, this is your time. Double damage perks in the third and fourth columns propell Falling Guillotine to the best sword in the game. Frenzy being a nice 15% damage buff with an additional 40% damage buff via surrounded on top gives Falling Guillotine the highest damage potential in the game. If you don't want to have to think about Surrounded being up and accidentally spinning too hard and deleting a few enemies from existence, you could go for a safer pick in Bait and Switch. You lose 5% in damage but make up for it in reliability. Another fun option which seems to be trending with the Brave Arsenal is the combination of Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds." First-choice PvE pick for sustained damage against Boss Spec enemies in end-game content. If you find a roll you like, keep for the ability to enhance perks when Final Shape arrives. Falling Guillotine is a decent, legendary choice for boss damage, particularly now that the BRAVE version can roll with two damage perks. As usual, look for a blade perk that boosts impact, and then Swordmaster's Guard as the guard perk for a bit of everything useful. In the first trait column, Frenzy provides the largest passive damage bonus of +15%, but Vorpal Weapon is still +10% or the old classic Relentless Strikes will extend sword ammo. In the second trait column, Surrounded provides +35% damage (+42% when enhanced) but only when in a crowd, or both Bait and Switch and Whirlwind Blade provide +30% when procced. The Indomitability origin trait seems built for the Prismatic subclass, generating grenade of melle energy according to your subclass type. Recommended MW: Impact, with a damage boosting (Boss, Major or Taken Spec) mod.|tags: PvE, PvE-Boss, PvE-BossSpec, PvE-MajorSpec, PvE-EndGame, PvE-God, M+KB, Controller

First-choice PvE pick for add-clearing Minor Spec enemies in end-game content. If you find a roll you like, keep for the ability to enhance perks when Final Shape arrives. Falling Guillotine is a decent, legendary choice for add clearing, particularly now that the BRAVE version can roll with two damage perks. As usual, look for a blade perk that boosts reserves, and then Swordmaster's Guard as the guard perk for a bit of everything useful. In the first trait column, Frenzy provides the largest passive damage bonus of +15%, or there's the option of Chain Reaction (even if the combatant damage scaling means it's not as much fun as other weapon types). In the second trait column, Surrounded provides +35% damage (+42% when enhanced) when procced - which should be a lot if you're clearing adds, but there's also Desperate Measures and Sword Logic, which boost damage on kills, so you can chew through beefier adds too. The Indomitability origin trait seems built for the Prismatic subclass, generating grenade of melle energy according to your subclass type. pandapaxxy (PvP / M+KB / Controller): "In PvP we could see an uptick in sword usage. Falling Guillotine is the only sword in the game to get both Eager Edge and Chain Reaction, for you to zoom in and get a multikill off of one sword swing. I don't think there will be a better sword for PvP. Potentially the Half-Truths with the unique combination of Eager Edge and Tireless Blades for the best ammo efficiency." Recommended MW: Impact.

First-choice PvE pick for add-clearing Minor Spec enemies in end-game content, particularly with a void subclass. In the trait columns, for void fragment synergy, Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds grants any easy void overshield - handy for CQC work - on kills of adds made volatile on kills. If you're not so worried about the overshield, Chain Reaction can help spread Destabilizing Rounds volatility further through the death explosions in ad-dense areas. The Indomitability origin trait seems built for the Prismatic subclass, generating grenade of melle energy according to your subclass type. What these Falling Guillotine perks do

Surrounded

Being within 15 meters of 3 Enemies grants 40% increased damage. Buff lingers for 1.5 seconds once the condition is no longer met. Exceptions: • Swords only receive a 35% damage increase. • Grenade and Rocket Launchers receive a 35% Explosive Damage increase and a 40% Impact Damage increase. • Wolfpack Rounds receive a 35% Explosive Damage increase.

Frenzy

After being in Combat for 12 seconds: Grants 15% increased damage, 100 Handling, and 100 Reload Speed for 7.2 seconds. Works and can activate while stowed. Dealing and receiving damage refreshes the buff duration. For Frenzy, being in Combat is defined as having either dealt or received damage within the last 5 seconds. Self-damage and environmental damage do not count.

Vorpal Weapon

Deals increased damage against Minibosses, Bosses, and Vehicles, as well as Players in their Super Ability. Damage increase by Ammo Type: • Primary Weapons: 20% [60%] • Special Weapons: 15% [20%] • Power Weapons: 10% [20%]

Relentless Strikes

Scoring 3 Powered Hits within 2? seconds of each refunds 1 ammo. Wolfpack Round Hits do not count.

Whirlwind Blade

Powered Sword Hits grant 3% increased damage for 3.5 seconds. Stacks 10 times for a 30% Buff. Stowing the weapon or Blocking removes all stacks. Wolfpack Round Hits also count as Powered Sword Hits.

Bait and Switch

Dealing damage with a weapon starts a 7 second timer. Dealing additional weapon damage resets the timer to 7 seconds. Dealing damage with all 3 of your weapons without letting the timer run out grants you 'Bait and Switch' for 10 seconds, granting 30% increased damage. Timer is disabled while Bait and Switch is active, requiring a full activation sequence once the buff expires.

Chain Reaction

Weapon Kills trigger an elemental explosion matching the weapon's element. Damage and radius of the explosions varies based on the weapon's ammo type: • Special Weapons: Up to 67.2 [44.8] damage in a 2.4 meter radius • Power Weapons: Up to 109.2 [72.8] damage in a 3 meter radius

Sword Logic

Weapon Kills grant Stacks of Sword Logic. The number of Stacks and the buff duration are tied to the highest Enemy Rank killed since activation: • Minors: 1 Stack for 5.5 seconds • Elites, Players: 2 Stacks for 7.5 seconds • Players in their Super and Minibosses: 3 Stacks for 10.5 seconds • Bosses: 4 Stacks for 15.5 seconds Damage increase at 1|2|3|4 Stacks: 15% | 25% [15%] | 35% | 50% Additional Kills refresh the buff duration to the duration tied to the highest Enemy Rank killed.

Desperate Measures

Weapon Kills grant 'Desperate Measures x1' (DMx1), increasing damage by 10% for 7 seconds. Grenade or Melee Kills grant 20% increased damage for 7 seconds (DMx2). Scoring another Grenade or Melee Kill with DMx2 active increases this to 30% (DMx3). Can be activated while stowed. Weapon, Grenade, and Melee Kills refresh the buff duration.

Repulsor Brace

Kills against Void Debuffed enemies grant a 45 HP Void Overshield for 8 seconds (12 with Echo of Persistence).

Destabilizing Rounds

Weapon Kills apply Volatile to enemies in a 7 meter radius around the target and grant Volatile Rounds for 3 seconds. 1.5 second cooldown between activations.

Eager Edge

Readying the Sword grants 80% increased Grounded and 64% increased Airborne Lunge Distance for 3 seconds. Buff is removed on stow. 3 second cooldown after the buff is removed.
