pandapaxxy (PvE / M+KB / Controller): "Incandescent and Chain Reaction, need I say more? Oh, I do? Okay. Bait and Switch or Vorpal gives you some respectable damage. Relentless Strikes giving you slightly better ammo economy on beefier targets, and to clear rooms with ease I'd use Unrelenting for health back on kills." Recommended MW: Impact.

Inspired by @PodvsEnemies Podcast vs Enemies episode 106 from 18 June 2024 (https://open.spotify.com/episode/0GYlriUxhFqNHGLqb84C1G?si=bb5a2c9b339d4c35) with @ImpetusAlways, @CourtProjects and @Saint_Kabr. First-choice PvE pick for add clearing in end-game content, particularly with solar fragments. False Idols is the latest vortex frame sword, and as all swords have pretty much the same stats, this is definitely in-band. Shapeable. Like all vortex frames, it's not currently good for boss damage with the cost/benefit of the spin-to-win heavy attack but if you want to save one for a possible future buff, start with a blade perk that boosts ammo count. In the guard perk slot, Swordmaster's Guard just buffs a little bit of everything. Then, in the first trait perk slot, Incandescent is very good a clearing crowds, particularly with solar fragments that use scorch or ignite, and then Chain Reaction, while not great for damage with the poor sword damage multiplier, can spread scorch and soften up add-dense crowds, or One for All can boost damage by +35% for dealing with a smaller number of beefier enemies. The Dealer's Choice origin trait is nice to have (who doesn't love more super energy?) - with two or three Pale Heart weapons, you'll notice the difference! Recommended MW: Impact, with a Backup Mag mod.|tags: PvE, PvE-MinorSpec, PvE-MajorSpec, PvE-EndGame, PvE-God, M+KB, Controller

What these False Idols perks do

Chain Reaction

Weapon Kills trigger an elemental explosion matching the weapon's element. Damage and radius of the explosions varies based on the weapon's ammo type: • Special Weapons: Up to 67.2 [44.8] damage in a 2.4 meter radius • Power Weapons: Up to 109.2 [72.8] damage in a 3 meter radius

Incandescent

Weapon Kills trigger a Solar explosion that applies 30 Scorch Stacks (40 with Ember of Ashes) and deals up to 30 damage to enemies within 4 meters of the target. Killing Elite or higher tier Combatants and Players increases the radius to 8 meters and applies 10 more Scorch Stacks. Scorch damage can be increased through Weapon Damage Buffs.

Bait and Switch

Dealing damage with a weapon starts a 7 second timer. Dealing additional weapon damage resets the timer to 7 seconds. Dealing damage with all 3 of your weapons without letting the timer run out grants you 'Bait and Switch' for 10 seconds, granting 30% increased damage. Timer is disabled while Bait and Switch is active, requiring a full activation sequence once the buff expires.

Vorpal Weapon

Deals increased damage against Minibosses, Bosses, and Vehicles, as well as Players in their Super Ability. Damage increase by Ammo Type: • Primary Weapons: 20% [60%] • Special Weapons: 15% [20%] • Power Weapons: 10% [20%]

Relentless Strikes

Scoring 3 Powered Hits within 2? seconds of each refunds 1 ammo. Wolfpack Round Hits do not count.

Unrelenting

Starts Health Regeneration and restores 65 HP upon reaching 100% Activation Progress with Weapon Kills within 5 seconds of each. Activation Progress by Enemy Rank: • Minor Combatants: 34% • Players: 67% • Elites, Minibosses, and Bosses: 100%

Strategist

Weapon Kills grant 10% Class Ability Energy. Kills with Fusion Rifles, Glaives, Shotguns, and Sniper Rifles grant 20%. Class Ability usage grants ? Stability for ? seconds. Ability energy gained may be significantly decreased based on your selected ability's Chunk Energy Scalar. Learn more about this mechanic in our explainer blog post on the Clarity website.

Wellspring

On Weapon Kill: Grants 8% Ability Energy split equally amongst all uncharged abilities. Abilities with multiple charges only receive one third of the ability energy normally split to them once they have a full ability charge ready. Ability energy gained may be significantly decreased based on your selected ability's Chunk Energy Scalar. Learn more about this mechanic in our explainer blog post on the Clarity website.

Surrounded

Being within 15 meters of 3 Enemies grants 40% increased damage. Buff lingers for 1.5 seconds once the condition is no longer met. Exceptions: • Swords only receive a 35% damage increase. • Grenade and Rocket Launchers receive a 35% Explosive Damage increase and a 40% Impact Damage increase. • Wolfpack Rounds receive a 35% Explosive Damage increase.

One for All

Scoring Weapon Hits against 3 Separate Enemies within 3 seconds of each grants 35% increased damage for 10 seconds. Does not require Direct Hits. Buff duration cannot be refreshed.
