pandapaxxy (PvE / M+KB / Controller): "Relentless could overthrow Messenger for being the best legendary high-impact pulse in the game. Is it definitively better? No, nothing really is in this game. But it can compete for sure. Rapid Hit and Desperado are both great perks. Relentless being Strand allows it Slice and Hatchling that Messenger cannot get. Frenzy and Keep Away are both neutral perks that could do well with just about any combination of alternate perks." Recommended MW: Reload Speed.

pandapaxxy (PvP / Controller): "In PvP Relentless and Messenger really stand toe to toe. Neither are exceptionally better than the other, and both come with Rapid Hit and Headseeker or Keep Away. Zen Moment really shines on Relentless and possibly puts it over the edge. Whichever way you fall on the two pulses both will serve you extremely well." Recommended MW: Stability.

Inspired by @PodvsEnemies Podcast vs Enemies episode 97 from 13 March 2024 (https://open.spotify.com/episode/4Uy7pfo5Thjtt2MF4vZitv?si=8e3adcb68d234006) with @ImpetusAlways, @Saint_Kabr and @CourtProjects. First-choice PvE pick for add clearing Minor Spec enemies in general content, particularly with a Strand subclass. Relentless returns as a Strand pulse rifle with below average stats that reveal its Season 1 origin. The recoil direction of 65 is vertical, if a little loose, so you either look to improve it further or, if you can handle the recoil, push out the range with your barrel perk. Any of the combat effect mag perks add further range in addition to the bullet behaviour, or Light Mag and Flared Magwell improve reload speed. You don't need to run a strand subclass but if you do then Slice and Hatchling can sever enemies to reduce their damage output (very useful in a boss fight to help your fireteam), and generate Threadlings for additional damage to synergise with your fragments. The Crossing Over origin trait is useful all around for PvE, with bumps to range and handling in the top half of a magazine, and a small 3% damage boost at the bottom. Recommended MW: Range, with a damage boosting (Minor or Taken Spec) mod.|tags: PvE, PvE-MinorSpec, PvE-God, M+KB, Controller

First-choice PvE pick for add clearing Minor Spec enemies in end-game content, particularly with a Strand subclass. Relentless returns as a Strand pulse rifle with below average stats that reveal its Season 1 origin. The recoil direction of 65 is vertical, if a little loose, so you either look to improve it further or, if you can handle the recoil, push out the range with your barrel perk. Any of the combat effect mag perks add further range in addition to the bullet behaviour. You don't need to run a strand subclass but if you do then Slice as the first trait perk can sever enemies to reduce their damage output (very useful in a boss fight to help your fireteam), to synergise with Thread of Continuity. As the second trait perk, Frenzy provides a reliable passive 15% damage boost and maximises handling and reload speed stats. The Crossing Over origin trait is useful all around for PvE, with bumps to range and handling in the top half of a magazine, and a small 3% damage boost at the bottom.
