Constructed by @Adamsdown_Boy (PvE PvE-Minor PvE-SingleAdd PvE-EndGame PvE-God M+KB Controller): First-choice PvE roll for sustained DPS against a single yellow-bar target activities rated Normal, Hard or Very Hard difficulty. Retrofit Escapade is a rapid fire LMG, which are rated C-Tier for endgame PvE by @TheAegisRelic Endgame Analysis Spreadsheet, who says "good damage profile but mediocre total damage and worst recoil of any LMG frame". The frame intrinsic offers built in Anti-Overload, better total ammo reserves and a ×0.8 reload animation scalar when the magazine is empty as per the Destiny Data Compendium. The recoil direction is vertical but loose so you should improve recoil control or look to boost Stability with your barrel perk to help hit crits, or Handling if you can land your shots. In the magazine perk slot, any of the combat effect mags, or perks that improve Reload Speed or mag size are fine. For tougher adds, in the first trait perk column Fourth Time's the Charm generates 2 shots from thin air after 4 crits within 3s of each other, almost doubling your total ammo if you can keep hitting crits, or you could run double special with Field Prep which grants +55 Reload Speed with a ×0.8 animation scalar to both reload and ready/stow when crouched, and bumps Ammo Generation by a hefty +40 to generate regular ammo bricks with Abundant Ammo or Bandolier. Alternatively, Stats for All boosts Handling and Reload Speed by +35 with a ×0.95 reload animation scalar, and Stability and Range by +10 with a ×1.05 damage dropoff distance for a non-refreshable 11s, after hitting three separate targets within 3s of each or Feeding Frenzy kills provide up to 5 stacks for max +100 Reload Speed with a ×0.8 animation scalar for 3.5s. In the second column for damage, One For All boosts damage by ×1.35 for a non-refreshable 11s after hitting three separate targets within 3s of each. Aegis ranks the Ambush origin trait as A-Tier - it improves both Range and Handling by +20 (+22 enhanced) and damage by ×1.1078 for 2s after first dealing or receiving damage. There's also the E-Tier for PvE Suros Synergy which grants +30 Handling and ×1.2 flinch resistance for 6s after reloading. If you're interested, the name carries a deeper thematic meaning that reflects the Season of the Seraph storyline, where players "retrofitted" old Warmind technology to avert an impending disaster. Literally, a retrofit means modifying an existing structure with new, updated parts, while an escapade refers to a wild, reckless adventure or an escape from a confining situation. Together, the name serves as a linguistic nod to the Tower's desperate, improvised mission: cobbled-together technology used in a high-stakes, chaotic operation to escape a looming apocalypse. Recommended MW: Handling, with your preferred choice of mod to boost weapon stats, ammo generation, or elemental pickups for builds.|tags:PvE PvE-Minor PvE-SingleAdd PvE-EndGame PvE-God M+KB Controller

Inspired by DMB PvE Podcast 44. Backup PvE roll for end-game content. Shapeable. The Ambush origin trait is probably more for PvP than PvE, with the extra range, handling and 10% boost to damage for a few moments after combat starts, although Suros Synergy's flinch reduction in reload is useful in a firefight too so take your pick. This is better in every stat than the only other rapid fire LMG - Shattered Cypher - and there are a few ways you can go with a weapon build. You'll need to control your fire with short bursts - so, to make it easier, tighten up the recoil direction with Arrowhead Brake, or boost stability with your barrel perk. Add your choice of extra shots, stability and reload speed with the mag. To lean into the Void 3.0 sandbox, give yourself as much ammo and uptime in the first trait column with Stats for All, Field Prep, Fourth Time's the Charm or Feeding Frenzy to take advantage of Golden Tricorn's 50% bonus damage with two stacks, using your choice of void grenade or melee. pandapaxxy (PvE / M+KB / Controller): "I dislike 900 rpm machine guns. They don’t feel very strong for how fast they fire. If I had some good Rambo moments where I could shred hordes of low-tier adds without having to recoil control that much I would love it. But having the lowest base stats across the machine gun archetypes and the fastest rpm makes them unwieldy. Arrowhead brake will bring up the terribly low recoil direction and having more in the magazine means you can be off target for 0.001s and not waste half your ammo. Feeding frenzy and field prep are both ways to bump up the decent reload speed. Golden tricorn will get you the best bang for your glimmer when paired with a void subclass. All void subclasses are viable in end game content so that’s not an issue. Frenzy is best when not on a void subclass and vorpal will allow you to do increased but not substantial damage in and out of combat." Recommended MW - Reload.

Accurized rounds will push out your effective range. Heating up will better your stability and recoil direction further, but you have to get a kill first. What these Retrofit Escapade perks do

Target Lock

Successive Hits within 0.2 seconds of each grant a ramping Damage Buff after scoring 12.5% of the Magazine Capacity as hits. Missing deactivates the buff. Stacks displayed on-screen are only visual aides, the buff ramps up with each shot once active. Reaches maximum strength at 5 Stacks. % of the Magazine Capacity as Hits required for each Visual Stack: 12.5%|35.5%|54.5%|74.5%|110.33% Damage Buff ramps up from 16.73% [10.46%] to 40% [25%] upon reaching maximum strength. Assuming no missed shots, it provides roughly a 25% [15.85%] Damage Buff on average after firing 100% of the Magazine Capacity.

Fourth Time's the Charm

Scoring 4 Precision Hits within 2 seconds of each refills 2 Ammo into the Magazine from thin air. Cannot load the Magazine beyond its base capacity. Precision Hit counter persists through stow.
