The only major differences are that Hammerhead has +2 range, but -4 reload speed, +5 bullets in the magazine and +18 aim assist. They will still feel very comparable. The difference in stats will feel negligible, and the loss in bullets can be made up for via subsistence or ambitious assassin. Incandescent and killing tally are both S tier perks. Focused fury will be useful if this becomes your main dps weapon or machine guns get a sizeable PvE damage buff." Recommended MW - Reload.

As per @mossy_max (https://x.com/mossy_max/status/1804893174965338387) - boss-tier Subjugators have a 20% damage reduction to all non-matching damage, going up to 30% DR to all damage after they "screech", which counts as a shield in-game and reacts to shield-based trait perks. Saint-14 can still focus Unwavering Duty in the Tower Hanger using Trials engrams. First, Arrowhead Brake to help with recoil, or Chambered Compensator or Polygonal Rifling will also to help land consistent crits. Then Tactical Mag with a Backup Mag mod gets you to 75 shots in the mag, or Appended or Extended Mag work too. In the first trait perk column, Field Prep boosts reload speed, but more importantly takes total ammo from 357 to 424. In the second, Adaptive Munitions buffs damage to non-matching Subjugator "shields" for a total damage boost of around +45% after 15 hits (+73% when enhanced). The Alacrity origin trait, if you're soloing content, or One Quiet Moment otherwise to speed up reload are both useful. Recommended MW: Stability, with a Backup Mag mod

What these Unwavering Duty perks do

Adaptive Munitions

Hits against Barrier Champion or non-matching Elemental Shields deal increasingly higher damage. Buff is removed upon hitting a matching shield or an unshielded enemy. Damage increase by Weapon Archetype: • Fusion Rifles: untested • Machine Guns, Auto/Pulse/Trace Rifles: 10% per hit, up to 50% • Linear Fusion Rifles: 22% per hit, up to 44% • Bows, Glaives, Hand Cannons, Scout Rifles: 25% per hit, up to 50%

Field Prep

Grants the following while Crouched: • 50 Reload Speed • 0.8x Reload Duration Multiplier • 0.8x Ready/Stow Duration Multiplier Passively grants 20 Ammo Generation stat. (50% more than 1 Ammo Generation armor mod)

Subsistence

Weapon Kills refill 10% of the magazine (rounded up) from reserves. Submachine Gun and Auto Rifle Kills refill 17% of the magazine.

Incandescent

Weapon Kills trigger a Solar explosion that applies 30 Scorch Stacks (40 with Ember of Ashes) and deals up to 30 damage to enemies within 4 meters of the target. Killing Elite or higher tier Combatants and Players increases the radius to 8 meters and applies 10 more Scorch Stacks. Scorch damage can be increased through Weapon Damage Buffs.

Ambitious Assassin

Reloading after scoring Kills with the weapon overfills the magazine from reserves based on the number of Kills scored. Overfill amount maxes out at 150% of the Magazine Capacity. Always rounds up. Kill counter persists through stow. Overfill amount per Kill scored: • Primary Weapons: 20% • Special and Power Weapons: 10%

Killing Tally

Weapon Kills grant a Stack of Killing Tally. Maximum of 3 Stacks. Stowing or reloading the weapon removes all Stacks. Damage increase at 1|2|3 Stacks: • PVE: 10% | 20% | 30% • PVP: 5% | 10% | 15%

Focused Fury

Scoring 35% of the Base Magazine Capacity as Precision Hits grants 25% increased damage for 11 seconds. Stowing or Reloading the weapon resets the Precision Hit counter. The buff remains active while stowed. Does not buff the Splash/Explosive damage elements of other perks.

Tap the Trigger

Firing grants 'Tap The Trigger' for 0.6 seconds, providing the following benefits: • 40 Stability • 50% decreased Recoil • 10% decreased Accuracy Cone Size Fusion Rifles only receive 25% of the benefits. Buff cannot be refreshed until Automatic Weapons stop firing, or until the next burst. [Controller-Only] Weapon fires the instant trigger pressure is applied.

Killing Wind

On Weapon Kill, for 5 seconds: • 50 Mobility • 40 Handling and 20 Range • 5% increased Damage Falloff Distance Additional Kills extend the duration by 5 seconds, up to 8 seconds. Buff is removed on stow.

Dynamic Sway Reduction

Each shot while holding down the trigger grants the following benefits: • 1 Stability • ?% decreased Accuracy Cone Size • 10% decreased Accuracy Cone Growth Reaches maximum strength after 10 shots, granting 10 Stability, ?% decreased Accuracy Cone Size, and 100% decreased Accuracy Cone Growth.
