pandapaxxy (PvP / Controller): Recommended MW: Stability. High-Impact(340) Arc Pulse Rifle Primary Ammo. "In PvP you can run a counterbalance mod or Arrowhead Brake if you prefer a different mod. Keep Away is the in slot and paired with Headseeker you will have a great neutral pulse rifle. If you get the jump on someone you’ll have the bonus range and a near perfect first burst. They turn on you, start flinching you, headseeker then comes into play to keep you on that two-burst. Kill Clip is another viable option for a more forgiving two-burst after your first kill, especially when paired with Tunnel Vision. Elemental Capacitor will only accentuate the neutral game of this pulse no matter what subclass you use. Whatever you use this pulse will be a great addition to any vault."

Inspired by @PodvsEnemies Podcast Versus Enemies episode 54 with @CourtProjects, @ImpetusAlways and @Saint_Kabr (https://open.spotify.com/episode/3obSAgsEW0RBeSjYXOVcgN?si=95ac723a75f749c3). First-choice PvE roll for general content. Shapeable. In-band stats for a high-impact pulse rifle - there's already plenty of range so use your barrel to fill out your preferred gunfeel stats (you can never go wrong with additional handling and stability). With one eye to Voltshot in the final column, you want reload speed as high as possible so Flared Magwell or Light Mag, and Compulsive Reloader or Keep Away with a Reload Speed Masterwork should get Voltshot procced and ready to use as quickly as possible after a kill. On top, the Nanotech Tracer Rockets add both damage and flinch when you proc them - really fun for PvE. Recommended MW: Reload Speed, with a damage-boosting (Minor or Taken Spec) or Backup Mag mod.|tags: PvE, PvE-MinorSpec, PvE-God, Controller, M+KB

In-band stats for a high-impact pulse rifle - there's already plenty of range so use your barrel to fill out your preferred gunfeel stats (you can never go wrong with additional handling and stability). Any of the combat effect rounds add utility in the mag and then for end-game activities you'll likely be staying as far away from all the hurty stuff as possible, so should be proccing Keep Away and then Frenzy provides both gunfeel and a solid 15% damage boosts. pandapaxxy (PvE / M+KB / Controller): Recommended MW: Reload. High-Impact(340) Arc Pulse Rifle Primary Ammo. "Phyllotactic Spiral almost needs Arrowhead Brake to be viable in PvE. Using your mod slot on a counterbalance mod means you’re giving up on damage through a backup mag or spec mod. Compulsive Reloader is the only good reloader perk which can pair wonderfully with Voltshot or Kill Clip. Frenzy is a great neutral option that can or can’t make use of Compulsive Reloader."

Datto's Thoughts, Phyllotactic Spiral is an arc energy pulse, 340 RPM. This thing feels like it can get some pretty decent rolls, but I think Voltshot for PvE is just too nice to pass up. If you're going Voltshot in the second column, I'm gonna call an audible for lower end PvE content and go with Compulsive Reloader, since I feel like the goal with Voltshot is either hitting a big target with jolt and tagging a bunch of stuff around it with the AoE portion, which would make CR not good, or just mowing through little dinker enemies and constantly proccing it over and over. If you're doing the second thing, I'd try out Compulsive. In higher end content, I'm probably looking at Keep Away, maybe Tunnel Vision, but I don't think that's super important in PvE. Kill Clip and Frenzy are also on this thing, but I think Voltshot is just too good. I'm looking at range or reload speed for masterwork and then your choice of either magazine or range minor perks. pve. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlV7QZ5P0Mk&t=192s

What these Phyllotactic Spiral perks do

Compulsive Reloader

While above 50% Magazine Capacity: 50 Reload Speed with a 0.95x Reload Duration Multiplier.

Frenzy

After being in Combat for 12 seconds: Grants 15% increased damage, 100 Handling, and 100 Reload Speed for 7.2 seconds. Works and can activate while stowed. Dealing and receiving damage refreshes the buff duration. For Frenzy, being in Combat is defined as having either dealt or received damage within the last 5 seconds. Self-damage and environmental damage do not count.

Armor-Piercing Rounds

Grants 5% increased damage against Elemental and Barrier Champion Shields. Allows bullets to overpenetrate enemies once.

Kill Clip

Finishing a reload within 3.6 seconds of a kill grants 25% increased damage for 5 seconds. Stowing the weapon removes the buff. Does not buff the Splash/Explosive damage elements of other perks.

Voltshot

Finishing a reload within 5.3 seconds of a Weapon Kill grants Voltshot for 7 seconds. While Voltshot is active, your next Weapon Hit consumes the buff and applies Jolt to the target. Applied Jolt's damage (generally) does not count as Weapon Damage.

Headseeker

Dealing non-Precision Direct damage grants the following benefits for 0.55 seconds: • 20% increased Precision Bonus (complicated, see specific damage increases below) • 3% increased Aim Assist Cone size Precision damage increases by weapon type/frame: • Pulse Rifles: Adaptive: 7.1%, Aggressive Burst: 10%, Heavy Burst: 9.5%, High-Impact: 8.74%, Lightweight: 6.3%, Rapid-Fire: 10.3% • Sidearms: Adaptive Burst: 8.46%, Heavy Burst: 7.36% • Scout Rifles: Precision: 8.66% [Bug] Heavy Burst Hand Cannons: 7% increased Weakspot damage. The distinction between Weakspots and Critspots is complicated and we might write an explainer blog post about it eventually. For the purposes of PvP, the two are equivalent.

Keep Away

While no enemies are within 15 meters: Grants 10 Range, 30 Reload Speed, and decreases Accuracy Cone Growth by 5?%.

High-Caliber Rounds

Hits inflict increased Flinch on Enemies. PVE: Tier 1-2 Minors can be repeatedly staggered. Higher Tier Combatants stagger quicker. PVP: Flinch against Players varies based on damage and Weapon Archetype. Flinch increase ranges between 5-10%.

Tunnel Vision

Grants the following for 5 seconds upon finishing a Reload within 3.6 seconds of a Weapon Kill: • 20 Aim Assist • ? ADS Handling • ?% decreased Accuracy Cone Growth

Elemental Capacitor

Grants Passive Bonuses based on the element of your selected Super's element: • Solar: 50 Reload Speed • Arc: 50 Handling • Void: 20 Stability • Strand: 20 Airborne Effectiveness • Stasis: 20 Recoil Direction & 20% decreased ADS Movement Speed Penalty
