Inspired by @PodvsEnemies episode 127 from 21 January 2025 (https://open.spotify.com/episode/27QaoJnY0M7c7Ikhz8CbUv?si=397188c406294fcf) with @Saint_Kabr, @ImpetusAlways and @CourtProjects (PvE PvE-MinorSpec PvE-EndGame PvE-God M+KB Controller): First-choice PvE pick for clearing bulky Minor adds in general, and end-game underleveled content, particularly with solar builds. Sojourner's Tale reprise has seen it a little neutered, losing trait perks that make a good burst damage weapon but it still has a niche role in clearing more difficult adds. At base, the stats are below average - 61 Range equates to 9.08m ADS and 7.57m hipfire, 40 Stability, 63 Handling is 0.33s ready, 0.30s ADS and 0.36s stow speed, and 44 Reload Speed is a 0.75s reload per shell. Magazine size is 6 (max 8), and with 0/1/2/3 Ammo Reserves mods you have total ammo of 19/21/23/23 (max 24). If you are in a market for a slug shotgun for burst damage, there is a niche roll that you might consider. Boost Handing with the barrel perk, and then in the magazine perk, Assault Mag improves fire rate, or Tactical Mag (with Backup Mag) maximises magazine size. If you're able to get a kill with another weapon before you start and proc Discord, you'll not need to worry too much about ammo reserves with every kill for 7s, either directly or via Incandescent's scorch and ignition (which you can improve with solar buildcrafting), generating ammo. The Splicer Surge origin trait is nice for PvE - reload after dealing damage for up to three stacks, which boosts handling and reload speed by 10/20/45 and applies a reload animation multiplier of ×0.967/×0.934/×0.9. Recommended MW: Handling, with a Backup Mag mod or, when masterworked, Synergy to create Firesprites or, when the artifact mod's around, Stunloader.|tags:PvE PvE-MinorSpec PvE-EndGame PvE-God M+KB Controller

What these Sojourner's Tale perks do

Discord

Grants the following for 7 seconds upon readying the weapon within 5? seconds of scoring a Kill with a different weapon: • 25% decreased ADS Animation Duration • 25% decreased Accuracy Cone Size • 30 Airborne Effectiveness Weapon Kills while Discord is active fully refill the Magazine of Primary Weapons, and refund 1 Ammo for Special and Power Weapons. (Scoring multiple kills with a single shot/burst still only refunds 1 ammo.)

Incandescent

Weapon Kills trigger a Solar explosion that applies 30 Scorch Stacks (40 with Ember of Ashes) and deals up to 30 damage to enemies within 4 meters of the target. Killing Elite or higher tier Combatants and Players increases the radius to 8 meters and applies 10 more Scorch Stacks. Scorch damage can be increased through Weapon Damage Buffs.

Heal Clip

Finishing a reload within 5.3? seconds of a Kill grants Cure x2 to you and Cure x1 to allies within 15 meters.

Precision Instrument

Direct Weapon Hits grant a stack of Precision Instrument for 1.25 seconds (2.1 seconds on weapons with a Draw/Charge Time). Maximum of 6 stacks. Reloading the weapon (except on Bows) or missing removes all stacks... usually. Heavy Burst Frame weapons can only gain 1 stack per burst. Adaptive Burst Linear Fusion Rifles require 1.5? Hits for each stack (and missing sometimes does not remove your stacks on them). Precision damage increase at 1|2|... stacks: 4.17% | 8.33% | 12.5% | 16.67% | 20.83% | 25%

Harmony

Upon readying the weapon within 3 seconds of getting a Kill with a different weapon: Grants 20% increased damage and 15 Handling for 7 seconds.

Auto-Loading Holster

Refills stowed weapon from reserves after 3.5 seconds of it being stowed.

Opening Shot

Grants the following benefits for your first shot (of the burst): • 20 Aim Assist and 25 Range • 5% decreased Accuracy Cone Size • 10% decreased Accuracy Cone Growth Special weapons only receive 50% of the benefits. Stats are rounded up. Firing the weapon prevents the perk from activating for 3 seconds.

Quickdraw

Switching to the Weapon grants 100 Ready/Stow Handling and a 0.95x Ready Animation Duration Multiplier for 1 second. Buff is removed as soon as ADS input is pressed.

Moving Target

Grants the following while Aiming Down Sights (ADS): • 10 Aim Assist • 10% decreased ADS Movement Speed Penalty

Offhand Strike

Weapon Kills grant the following benefits to hip-firing for 7 seconds: • 30 Stability • 45% increased Damage Falloff Distance • ~3° larger Precision Aim Angle • 95%? decreased Accuracy Cone Size • 95%? decreased Accuracy Cone Growth. Buff is removed on stow.

Air Trigger

Passively grants 20 Ammo Generation Stat. (Equivalent of 1 Ammo Generation Armor Mod) Being Airborne grants the following benefits: • 30 Reload Speed • 0.8x Reload Duration Multiplier • 15?% decreased Accuracy Cone Size • 20?% decreased Auto Aim Cone Size
