pandapaxxy (PvE / M+KB / Controller): "The Summoner in PvE has a few different options. You can opt for a Heal Clip roll to keep yourself alive, a Target Lock roll to take down champions and larger health enemies, or even an Onslaught roll to tear into waves of adds with the damage of an auto but the speed of an SMG. Take your pick. If you’re going Heal Clip I would recommend Incandescent. Target Lock will work best with Overflow and Onslaught with Subsistence. You can mix and match to your heart’s content, but those are my recommendations." Recommended MW: Reload Speed.

First-choice PvE pick for add-clearing Minor Spec enemies in end-game content. If you find a roll you like, keep for the ability to enhance perks when Final Shape arrives. Summoner returns with great stats and an interesting PvE perk pool. The recoil could do with a little taming, so you can use barrel and mag perks to help, or go with the combat effect magansine of your choice. For the trait perks, Perpetual Motion is just a useful all-around boost to gunfeel to pair with a second column damage perk like Onslaught (the extra stability is hand to control the recoil at three stacks), Golden Tricorn or Target Lock. Of the origin traits, Alacrity is best if you're running solo, in endgame activities to help clutch when everyone else is dead but honestly, Wild Card is much more fun. Recommended MW: Stability, with a damage boosting (Minor or Taken Spec) mod.|tags: PvE, PvE-MinorSpec, PvE-EndGame, PvE-God, M+KB, Controller

pandapaxxy (PvP / Controller): "PvP has far less options but still some solid options. Instead of different niches within the grand scheme of PvE content, we really have consistency or lethality 2x. Within both you’ll find a healthy scoop of stability perks, either Zen Moment, Dynamic Sway Reduction, or Perpetual Motion. Pick your poison there. If you want more consistency on top of your consistency sundae, go for Tap the Trigger. For lethality you can opt for Target Lock, Onslaught, or the tried and true Kill Clip. All options are great but work in different ways, your best option might not be the same as others so give them a try." Recommended MW: Range.

First-choice PvE pick for add-clearing Minor Spec enemies in general content, particularly with a Solar subclass. If you find a roll you like, keep for the ability to enhance perks when Final Shape arrives. Summoner returns with great stats and an interesting PvE perk pool. The recoil could do with a little taming, so you can use barrel and mag perks to help, or go with the combat effect magansine of your choice. For the trait perks, Heal Clip and Incandescent can both be improved by solar subclass fragments, but even without them will cure 120 health for you and 60 for Guardians around you for reloading after a kill, and Incandescent spreads scorch and ignites enemies. Of the origin traits, Alacrity is best if you're running solo, in endgame activities to help clutch when everyone else is dead but honestly, Wild Card is much more fun. Then Onslaught is loads of fun - but you'll need as much stability as you can to control things at three stacks. What these The Summoner (Adept) perks do

High-Caliber Rounds

Hits inflict increased Flinch on Enemies. PVE: Tier 1-2 Minors can be repeatedly staggered. Higher Tier Combatants stagger quicker. PVP: Flinch against Players varies based on damage and Weapon Archetype. Flinch increase ranges between 5-10%.

Heal Clip

Finishing a reload within 5.3? seconds of a Kill grants Cure x2 to you and Cure x1 to allies within 15 meters.

Incandescent

Weapon Kills trigger a Solar explosion that applies 30 Scorch Stacks (40 with Ember of Ashes) and deals up to 30 damage to enemies within 4 meters of the target. Killing Elite or higher tier Combatants and Players increases the radius to 8 meters and applies 10 more Scorch Stacks. Scorch damage can be increased through Weapon Damage Buffs.

Armor-Piercing Rounds

Grants 5% increased damage against Elemental and Barrier Champion Shields. Allows bullets to overpenetrate enemies once.

Onslaught

Weapon Kills grant a Stack of 'Onslaught' for 4.5 seconds. Maximum of 3 Stacks. Benefits at 1|2|3 Stacks of Onslaught: • 16.7% | 28.6% | 37.5% decreased Firing Delay • 15 | 25 | 35 Reload Speed

Perpetual Motion

While moving at a minimum of 2 meters per second: Grants a Stack of 'Perpetual Motion' after 2 seconds and a second Stack after 10 seconds. Each Stack provides 10 Stability, 10 Handling, and 10 Reload Speed. All Stacks are removed if movement speed is below 2 m/s for 0.5 seconds. Works and can activate while stowed.

Golden Tricorn

While the perk's buff isn't active, Weapon Kills grant 'Golden Tricorn x1' for 7 seconds, increasing weapon damage by 15%. Additional Kills refresh the buff duration. While Golden Tricorn x1 or x2 is active: Grenade or Elemental Melee Kills matching the element of the Weapon grant Golden Tricorn x2 for 10 seconds, increasing weapon damage by 50%. Clarity tooltip editor's note: We're replacing the previous Powered Melee term with Elemental Melee. The former is now exclusively used for perks that require the consumption of a Melee Ability Charge. This note is temporary and will be removed in the future.

Target Lock

Successive Hits within 0.2 seconds of each grant a ramping Damage Buff after scoring 12.5% of the Magazine Capacity as hits. Missing deactivates the buff. Stacks displayed on-screen are only visual aides, the buff ramps up with each shot once active. Subsistence

Weapon Kills refill 10% of the magazine (rounded up) from reserves. Submachine Gun and Auto Rifle Kills refill 17% of the magazine.

Overflow

Upon picking up Special or Heavy Ammo: Refills and Overfills the Magazine from reserves. Overfill amount maxes out at 100% of the Magazine Capacity. Activates even while stowed.
