pandapaxxy (PvE / M+KB / Controller): "We got ourselves a new void trace rifle. If you missed Hollow Denial then this will be for you. I think Hollow Denial is better than Chronophage, but it's a decent alternative. Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds are great Void synergy, but for better general use Auto-Loading Holster and Target Lock will always keep you topped off and have some great damage. If you're looking for more of a main weapon then Feeding Frenzy and Desperate Measures will fit that bill." Recommended MW: Stability.

Inspired by @PodvsEnemies episode 115 from 6 September 2024 (https://open.spotify.com/episode/6axWXT6NCn4jZVuRkCTfiu?si=72aafbad8138409a) with @ImpetusAlways, @CourtProjects and @Saint_Kabr (PvE PvE-MinorSpec PvE-EndGame PvE-God M+KB Controller): First-choice PvE pick for add clearing minor enemies in end-game content. Chronophage is only the second legendary void trace rifle since season 17 and, unfortunately its stats are on the low side. At base, 67 Range equates to 34.51m while ADS, 51 handling is 0.38s ready, 0.29s ADS speed and 0.35s stow speed, while the reload speed of 44 is a 2.06s reload. Total ammo is the lowest of its peers at only 430 out of the box (478/527/551 with 1/2/3 reserve mods), so to be useful this does need addressing. On controller, Stability is useful to keep the beam on a crit area, or if you're using M+KB you can add Handling with the barrel park. For the battery perk, Enhanced Battery boosts the total ammo to 456 (508/559/585) and Ionized Battery gets you to 461 (513/565/591). For end-game use, Shoot to Loot as the first trait perk is always useful to pick up ammo blocks and power orbs, but also reloads all your weapons, bypassing reload penalties. In the second, One for All provides an easy to proc a ×1.35 damage boost, or Desperate Measures is easy to proc while Transcendent with grenade and melee kills, for up to a ×1.3 boost. The Radiolaria Transposer origin trait is extra AoE damage that inherits the weapon's damage multiplier, so the initial explosion can be more damaging than a special ammo Chain Reaction explosion - what's not to love? For anyone interested, the name's derived from Greek words "chronos" and "phage", literally meaning "time-eater" and is used colloquially in French to mean "time-consuming". Recommended MW: Stability (Controller) or Handling (M+KB), with a Quick Access Sling mod.|tags:PvE PvE-MinorSpec PvE-EndGame PvE-God M+KB Controller

What these Chronophage perks do

Shoot to Loot

Weapon Hits against Orbs of Power collect them. If collecting ammo is possible: Weapon Hits against Ammo Bricks pick them up, trigger Ammo Pickup Effects, and refill all Weapons from reserves. Does not require direct hits.

One for All

Scoring Weapon Hits against 3 Separate Enemies within 3 seconds of each grants 35% increased damage for 10 seconds. Does not require Direct Hits. Buff duration cannot be refreshed.

Desperate Measures

Weapon Kills grant 'Desperate Measures x1' (DMx1), increasing damage by 10% for 7 seconds. Grenade or Melee Kills grant 20% increased damage for 7 seconds (DMx2). Scoring another Grenade or Melee Kill with DMx2 active increases this to 30% (DMx3). Can be activated while stowed. Weapon, Grenade, and Melee Kills refresh the buff duration.

Repulsor Brace

Kills against Void Debuffed enemies grant a 45 HP Void Overshield for 8 seconds (12 with Echo of Persistence).

Destabilizing Rounds

Weapon Kills apply Volatile to enemies in a 7 meter radius around the target and grant Volatile Rounds for 3 seconds. 1.5 second cooldown between activations.

Target Lock

Successive Hits within 0.2 seconds of each grant a ramping Damage Buff after scoring 12.5% of the Magazine Capacity as hits. Missing deactivates the buff. Stacks displayed on-screen are only visual aides, the buff ramps up with each shot once active. Reaches maximum strength at 5 Stacks. % of the Magazine Capacity as Hits required for each Visual Stack: 12.5%|35.5%|54.5%|74.5%|110.33% Damage Buff ramps up from 16.73% [10.46%] to 40% [25%] upon reaching maximum strength. Assuming no missed shots, it provides roughly a 25% [15.85%] Damage Buff on average after firing 100% of the Magazine Capacity.

Auto-Loading Holster

Refills stowed weapon from reserves after 3.5 seconds of it being stowed.

Feeding Frenzy

Weapon Kills grant 1 Stack of Feeding Frenzy for 3.5 seconds, increasing the Reload Speed of the weapon. Maximum of 5 Stacks. Bonuses at 1|2|3|4|5 Stacks: • 8|50|60|75|100 Reload Speed • 2.5%|10%|13%|16%|20% decreased Reload Animation Duration

Elemental Capacitor

Grants Passive Bonuses based on the element of your selected Super's element: • Solar: 50 Reload Speed • Arc: 50 Handling • Void: 20 Stability • Strand: 20 Airborne Effectiveness • Stasis: 20 Recoil Direction & 20% decreased ADS Movement Speed Penalty

Fragile Focus

Passively grants 20 Range but deactivates if you drop to 0 Shield HP (Critical Health). Buff reactivates 1 second after your Shields HP fully regenerates.

Pugilist

Weapon Kills grant 10% Melee Ability Energy. Kills with Sniper Rifles, Shotguns, Glaives, and Fusion Rifles grant 20%. Dealing Melee Damage grants 35 Handling for 3 seconds. Ability energy gained may be significantly decreased based on your selected ability's Chunk Energy Scalar. Learn more about this mechanic in our explainer blog post on the Clarity website.
