pandapaxxy (PvE / Controller / M+KB): "Retrofuturist is an interesting addition this season. Alongside Riiswalker we have a kinetic option for a lightweight frame shotgun. Retrofuturist was never a truly strong pick for PvE and that remains for this current version. Auto-Loading Holster will be your best quality of life perk, and paired with Vorpal Weapon is a very cookie-cutter shotgun. Destabilizing Rounds pairs best with Feeding Frenzy to use Retrofuturist as your primary add-clearing weapon." Recommended MW: Reload.

pandapaxxy (PvP / Controller / M+KB): "If you like snappy shotguns you will be happy to learn that Retrofuturist gets access to Quickdraw and Snapshot Sights. I prefer Slickdraw as shotgun aim assist doesn’t feel incredibly strong to me, but I also don’t mind lower AA weapons in general. Having a fast shotgun is more important to me, your mileage may vary with that. I think most players will opt for the tried and true Quickdraw and Snapshot Sights." Recommended MW: Range.

Inspired by @PodvsEnemies Podcast vs Enemies episode 93 (https://open.spotify.com/episode/0uYGSQqlyX1faCyATCDuno?si=IMSCRgTRQr-_THJdjxFMIQ) with @ImpetusAlways and @Saint_Kabr. First-choice PvE pick for burst damage against Major spec enemies in end-game content. Unfortunately, Retrofuturist is distinctly meh, so it's only worth hanging onto a roll if it fills a hole in your vault, and even then you'll have to reset your Crucible rank a few times to stand a decent chance of the roll you're after. As a Lightweight shotgun, you do get the +20 mobility and +6.25% movement speed and, for some reason, it has a base mags size of 7, but that's where the praise ends. If you're hanging onto one, try a barrel perk that adds Handling, although a bit of range and stability doesn't hurt either. Assault Mag and Tactical Mag are the best mag perk choices, but Appended Mag or Light Mag aren't bad. For burst damage against majors, the trait combination of Auto-Loading Holster and Trench Barrel is decent enough. Recommended MW: Handling, with a damage boosting (Major or Taken Spec) mod.|tags: PvE, PvE-Boss, PvE-MajorSpec, PvE-EndGame, PvE-God, M+KB, Controller

Hip-Fire Grip

Grants the following benefits while hipfiring: • 25 Stability and 15 Aim Assist • 2.7° larger Precision Aim Cone Angle • 30% decreased Accuracy Cone Size • 20% increased Aim Assist Falloff Distance • 20% increased Damage Falloff Distance The Damage Falloff increase does not apply to The Last Word, Shotguns, Sniper Rifles, and Fusion Rifles. PvP-specific note: the Precision Aim Cone Angle increase essentially just allows you to hit Crits while aimed above or slightly to the side of the head. (This is already the default behavior of Submachine Guns, Sidearms, Bows, Machine Guns, and Linear Fusion Rifles so it does not affect them)
