Constructed by @Adamsdown_Boy (PvE PvE-Boss PvE-SingleAdd PvE-EndGame PvE-God M+KB Controller): First-choice PvE roll for sustained DPS against a single yellow-bar target in activities rated Normal, Hard or Very Hard difficulty. Song of Ir Yût is an adaptive LMG, which are rated B-Tier for endgame PvE by @TheAegisRelic Endgame Analysis Spreadsheet, who says "technically a strict downgrade to aggressive damage profile, but barrier intrinsic is noticeable". The frame intrinsic offers built in Anti-Barrier, but no other benefits as per the Destiny Data Compendium. The recoil direction is right but pretty tight so you could improve Recoil Direction or look to boost Stability to help hit crits, or Handling if you can land your shots. In the magazine perk slot, perks that improve Reload Speed are pretty much essential for this roll. For a sustained boss damage roll, in the first trait perk column Rewind Rounds refills 70% of hits landed from reserves when the magazine empties, or Reconstruction refills 25% of the magazine every 5.5s up to ×2 capacity when stowed during add phases or not firing. Alternatively, Demolitionist provides an instant magazine refill on grenade use and chunk grenade ability energy on kills. For damage, Bait and Switch boosts damage by ×1.3 for 11s for doing damage with your other two weapons, or take advantage of the overflowed magazine with Target Lock which stacks up to 5 times on repeated hits within 0.2s of each other for up to ×1.4 damage at 110.33% of base magazine capacity. Aegis ranks the Cursed Thrall origin trait as A-Tier -synergising well with melee builds - killing an enemy with a melee gives you 8.5s to proc a 4.5m radius Cursed Thrall AoE explosion on your next weapon kill. If you're interested, the name is a direct reference to the Deathsong, a lethal Hive melody - a mathematical description of death - composed and sung by the Hive Wizard Ir Yût, the Deathsinger. Recommended MW: Handling, with your preferred choice of mod to boost weapon stats, ammo generation, or elemental pickups for builds.|tags:PvE PvE-Boss PvE-SingleAdd PvE-EndGame PvE-God M+KB Controller

Constructed by @Adamsdown_Boy (PvE PvE-Minor PvE-SingleAdd PvE-EndGame PvE-God M+KB Controller): First-choice PvE roll for clearing individual Minor adds or tougher enemies in activities rated Normal, Hard or Very Hard difficulty, particularly with Arc builds. For tackling add groups and the occasional tougher enemy, there's a double trait perk damage pairing in Jolting Feedback which applies Arc Jolt after 14 hits (11 when Amplified) to tougher enemies who can survive the weapon damage, triggering chain lightning on further hits for both target and AoE damage, and Master of Arms provides ×1.15 damage for 8s after a kill with any weapon, with a second stack of ×1.25 for 5s on any kills with the first stack active or Sword Logic provides up to ×4 stacks depending on the type of enemy killed - a ×1.15 boost for 6.5s on killing a Minor add, ×1.25 for 8.5s for an Elite, ×1.35 for 11.5s for a Champion or Miniboss, and ×1.5 for 16.5s for a Boss, with all the timers refreshed on further kills. For a sustained boss damage roll when using an Arc build, in the first trait perk column Supercharged Magazine refills 5% of the magazine every 1.5s while you're Amplified or, after you sprint when Amplified to gain Speed Booster this accelerates to 5% every 0.25s while the buff is active, overflowing the magazine to up to ×2 capacity. pandapaxxy (PvP / Controller): "Machine guns have not had a dominant presence in PvP since Hammerhead was sunset (RIP). You can make Song of Ir Yut feel great by bumping up all its stats. Elemental Capacitor will juice up Void or Arc builds while having slightly less utility on Stasis and negligible effects on Strand and Solar. I would argue it’s better than Target Lock because you’ll only be getting half a magazine in PvP but if the damage scales like I think it does, it could be incredible (I’ll edit this if I am wrong.)" In the magazine perk slot, perks that improve Reload Speed are pretty much essential for this roll if you're not using Hunter dodge to reload. For tackling add groups and the occasional tougher enemy, there's a double trait perk damage pairing in Jolting Feedback which applies Arc Jolt after 14 hits (11 when Amplified) to tougher enemies who can survive the weapon damage, triggering chain lightning on further hits for both target and AoE damage, and Mega Kill Clip which boosts damage by ×1.4 with a duration of 3s + (2s × the number of kills) up to a max 20s, on a reload within 5s of a kill. pandapaxxy (PvE / M+KB / Controller): "I did not participate in the raid race, but this weapon was one of the first to reach my ears on being a potential monster. Bait and Switch can put out some incredible damage, and you get to pair it with either Reconstruction or Rewind Rounds, both will extend your magazine and allow you to keep the DPS going. If you prefer less weapon swapping I would go Target Lock to keep damage up and really lay into that boss. Sword Logic or Voltshot are both great at clearing rooms and your choice will depend on how you feel about reloading a machine gun." Recommended MW: Reload.

Inspired by @PodvsEnemies Podcast vs Enemies episode 79 (https://open.spotify.com/episode/1qz5FD88RfmGHDjedV6nGo?si=7e1c1558ecea4f1c) with @ImpetusAlways, @Saint_Kabr and @CourtProjects. First-choice PvE pick for add-clear against chunkier Minor Spec enemies and the occasional major in end-game content. Shapeable. There's a lot of competition in the arc LMGs, and Song of Ir Yût has lower than average stats but saves itself with some nice trait perk combinations. Handling makes most weapons feel better - Fluted Barrel adds the most, but Arrowhead Brake also helps max out the recoil direction in the barrel perk slot. For the magazine perk, you can choose the combat effect mag of your preference, or maybe go with Appended Mag or Flared Magwell to round out the stats further. As the first trait column support perk, Unrelenting as the second column signature perk is great in end-game content for healing you and keeping you in a fight. You've got a pretty big mag, so you can use it to start and then escalate the new-to-season-22 Sword Logic perk damage tiers to rip through Minor Spec adds and the occasional Major. Maybe not so useful with this roll, but the Cursed Thrall origin perk synergises well with melee builds and is a lot of fun for helping soften up groups of enemies when active. Recommended MW: Handling or Range, with a damage boosting (Minor, Major or Taken Spec) or Backup Mag mod.|tags: PvE, PvE-MinorSpec, PvE-EndGame, PvE-God, M+KB, Controller

Maximise your magazine size with Extended Mag or Appended Mag as the perk, and then in the first column as the support perk, you can then make the most of this with Rewind Rounds or Reconstruction so you can essentially keep firing til you run out of ammo. With this set-up, you can start and then escalate the new-to-season-22 Sword Logic perk damage tiers to rip through Minor Spec adds and Majors, and even an occasional boss.
